the power went out in my place for like 10 mins today. But lucky it came back on. Im growing hydroponically if the power goes off and the bubbles stop and the lights arnt on, what is the longest time this could go on until the plants dies?
I would guess that the power could stay off for a couple days or even more & you would still be alright.
No...not in the least. Maybe after 4 days with no power, I would get a little concerned, but still not frantic. After a storm one summer, I had no power for 6 days, & my plants were still OK.
If you were doing a drip hydro or ebb and flow, you might have to hand water. In a DWC, you would probably be good for a few days. Depending on your mediums(hydroton, rockwool, coco)water retention, you could have to hand water just as much as you're timers are set to water. This would also hold true for aeroponics or NFT. All of these techniques rely on frequent waterings through the use of timers, and pumps.
