  1. Hi City,

Just wondering, do you soil growers out there pot up your plants as you go or just stick the seedling in the same bucket you plant to flower them in?

I've potted up my plants (first grow) five times and I'm really pleased with the results. All plants are bushy with nice thick stems, but it's messy and obviously means disturbing the plants and risking creating air bubbles.

Would they have been just the same if I'd gone straight to big buckets after they'd sprouted?

I'll experiment next grow anyway, but I'd be interested to know what everyone else is doing.

  2. i start mine in cups, and tranplant them ethier to 3 gallon bucket, or 5 gallon....

  3. wet paper towel to a 1 gal bucket to a 3 gal bucket

  4. soiless grower. sorry I'm clueless :D

  5. the less times a plant is repotted the better for the plant.

but i start in smaller pots and pot up becuse i want to start a lot of seeds in a small space and under a smaller light than my flower room.

  6. HIGH All, transplanting...potting up never had problems with it. Germ them, then into 4" pot then into 3gl pot then into a 5gl bucket....no probs with transplant shock. Just becareful when taking it out. When I was growing up I sure needed new shoes every year.

  7. multiple transpants increases the active rootmass since you get layers of bound up roots where the roots were starting to spin around the pot. 3 transplants is usualy the best. It also saves lot of room in your growbox and no light is lost lighting up soil.
