I have heard two diffrent thought on the size of pots. 1. The bigger the bucket the better, just because it has more root growth and its good for the plant. 2. smaller buckets are better because the more roots there are the more nutrients they take from the plant itself. Pls put this myth at rest. At least with me.

yeah, iv heard that if the bucket is to small the plant will become root bound and will grow smaller...i wonder if it harms it though... i was just thinking for SOG grow it would help maybe... please corect if im wrong though.
Well I've heard a mixture of the two. Starting with smaller containers allows the roots to fill the whole container rather than just spread out like if you started out in a big bucket. So basically you'll have a much denser rootwad, just transplant before you end up rootbound.
