postal scales?

    i picked up one of those little metal postal scales today on an impulse while i was drooling over the illadelph's in the shop's case. thing is, i have no clue how in the world these things work as i have only ever used my friend's digital. anyone want to give me a little insight?

    hang the metal circle on a lamp light switch put a nickle on the clip. once they stop swinging look on the gram side if there accurate the nickle will way 5grams. All nickle way 5grams you can throw one on a diggi and it will way 5.0 on the dot.
