Post a quote w/ the author. Describe why you chose it. as for me "All those pathetically eager acid freaks who thought they could buy Peace and Understanding for three bucks a hit. But their loss and failure is ours, too. What Leary took down with him was the central illusion of a whole life-style that he helped to create . . . a generation of permanent cripples, failed seekers, who never understood the essential old mystic fallacy of the Acid Culture: the desperate assumption that somebody-or at least some force-is tending the Light at the end of the tunnel. This is the same cruel and paradoxically benevolent bullshit that has kept the Catholic Church going for so many centuries. It is also the military ethic . . . a blind faith in some higher and wiser 'authority.' The Pope, The General, The Prime Minister . . . all the way up to 'God.'" - Hunter S. Thompson pretty much because i love him and his writings and his message.
"My favorite thing is to go where I've never been" ~Diane Arbus I love this quote for so many reasons. I love to travel and explore new places. But even outside of the context of traveling this quote is all about stepping outside of your comfort zone. Some people thrive on it, while it makes others miserable. Diane Arbus is my favorite photographer, my idol, and a giant freak. Her photography forced people to step outside of their comfort zones, which is something we all need every once in a while.
very true penelope. another Thompson “He who makes a beast out of himself gets rid of the pain of being a man.” Because its simply saying become stronger than your fears and weaknesses mentally. and there will be no actual pain in your life.
