Possibly moving to nyc!

Discussion in 'General' started by NipKing, Aug 7, 2012.

  1. Hey guys, I am from Brisbane, Australia. And am thinking about moving to NYC or somewhere around that area. My parents have offered to pay for my ticket an ill have a substantial amount of money to keep myself afloat.

I was just wondering if anyone can tell me, from a tokers point of view, what is NYC like, the whole lifestyle in the Big Apple.

    Thanks fellow blazers x

  2. I don't live there but I've been a few times. Personally I didn't think NYC lived up to all the hype it gets. It's overly crowded, it smells like piss, it's dirty on the streets, and it's ridiculously pricey.

Honestly it wouldn't be as bad if the cost of living wasn't so expensive, but I don't think it's worth all the money.

That's just my opinion though, I know tons of people who love it there.

Edit: Oh and the mayor is a fuckin nut job.:smoking:

  3. And where are you going to work? Prepare to hand out like 100 fucking resumes!

  4. I second that. I wasn't impressed when I went in 2006.

  5. Look at Hoboken - great city and right across the river from NYC.

  6. You'll get so much as with an Aussie accent bro.

  7. Ehhh. Been there plenty of times. I enjoy it while I'm there but at the end of all my trips I feel broke and ready to leave haha. VERY crowded at all times, black dudes trying to sell their rap albums at every corner, smells, really dirty, and everything is crammed. Definitely could not live there

  8. Come around the Albany area or the aridonarcks u get some decent bud

  9. prepare to live in a closet sized apartment for the price of an australian penthouse.

other than that the city is cool...to visit

Alright, the booty thing with an Aussie accent fucking rules.
And dude, I used to pay $500 a week rent in my old apparment.

And the cost of living is fucking cheap as fuck in America, well food and stuff is, compared to Australia.
A CocaCola here is about $3.50 for a little bottle.
But then again the wages and stuff like that in America are a lot different, I was earning $20/hr.

And I wouldn't really need a job as I'd e living off saving for a while.
But I have heaps of experience in cafes bars and nightclubs.

And the closet sized apartment thing, I'd sleep on someone's couch man, I'm real laid back about all that shit.

Also, the lifestyle is completely different to ours here in Aus.
Any fellow blades keep me posted, I am trying to make the journey before October and would love to meet some people, try and arrange a few sessions with some of you U.S tokers.

  11. Go for it sounds fun as hell
