I recieved a warning for having too big of a signature, I sent the mod who gave me the warning a message about what I think about having larger sigs: "Oh sorry about that, I didn't know my dimensions were too big. But why can you have such a big sig? I understand you're a mod or whatever, but you're just a human too. Why can't everyone have a larger sig? Really, I don't think people are using dialup, and increasing it by 100-200 pixels really won't do any damage or slow anyone's experience here. Most people now use decent computers that can handle forums like grasscity. I'm extremely high so sorry, its just kind of a thought that popped in my head. It's kinda hypocritical, everyone should have equal rights. Cause the size of a sig shouldn't be that big of a deal 300 pixels isn't that big TBH it's actually small. Most other forums I'm on allow larger sigs, I'm not saying it has to be incredibly large but 500 pixels x 300pixels or something isn't too big, I've been using the internet for quite a while man plus I do graphic design. IDK just think about it, you have substantial power, I'm sure if you agree you can do something about it. Alright I'm too ripped I'm done typing haha." Is it possible to increase the dimensions of signatures by 100 or 200 pixels? That really won't hurt anyone's experience here or slow it down.
I don't think the rule is in place for slow connected users, I'm pretty sure it's there to create a uniformity... makes it look a lot neater with same sized sigs
It's the rules SJ set up, the mods just have to enforce them. If you really wanted a bigger sig, you can get a gold membership and have a sig like mine
Sigs are fucking stupid in the first place and provide no point but willy waving and wasting resources. Go green, fuck sigs. Quit wasting precious resources.
This is true, a gold membership will allow you to be able to use a larger signature. But until then, the limits are what they are. If we start letting people go just a "little bit" over the limits then where do we stop? Oh you're only 5 pixels over so it's okay, oh you're only 10 pixels over so it's okay, oh you're only 15 pixels over so it's okay... Oh, you only have one line of text in your sig so it's okay. Oh, you only have two lines? Well, I let a guy with one line go, so that must be okay. At the end of the day, we have to enfoce the signature rules strictly and fairly or else people start getting special treatment. So the sig limits are what they are. Make you signature fit those rules, or risk losing your sig and getting a warning. Your choice.
