Possible symbolism you notice in entertainment (books, movies, music, etc)

  1. Think there's a meaning under the surface of your favorite movie, song or book?

    Explain it here.

There are no theories too strange or crazy for this thread.

  2. I've heard people suggest Fight Club is about Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes once he grows up.

and I have a personal theory that Forrest Gump is a condescending symbol for democracy.

  3. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes follows the structure of George Orwell's Animal Farm.

  4. The walking dead zombies are stoners from Colorado. Ha ha just kidding.

Animal farm is the most symbolistic story i have read.

  5. Inception is about the process of creating a movie.

  6. Walt disneys signature has three 6s in it. Also, many Disney movies have tons of subliminal messages inappropriate for children. The world is full of shit shit shit! Smoke weed :)

  7. I watched The Fast & The Furious last night with the wifey and noticed a lot of eerie things that almost predicted Paul Walker death.

The song Selfie I think is a parody of our society

  8. People are creative.

I've seen artwork done on microscopic computer chips no one will see.

  9. Also a lot of books symbolize Jesus Christ, either with a character with the initials, traits: performance of miracles, manifestation of divine qualities, healing others, display loving kindness and forgiveness, fighting for justice, being guided by the spirit of the character's father(or love one) death and resurrection. The characters are often martyrs who sacrifice their live, love or happiness for the greater good of others. Look at just about every book you've read.

  10. The lorax is pretty dam clear about it. The government is destroying the environment and calling it progression. And if everyone remains careless about what their doing then their going to continue doing shit their ways, until nothing is left.
Then also the thing about "bottled air" which was symbolizing bottled water lol. They actually had a line in the movie where the owner of thneedville said something along the lines "we found out that if you take something free and put it in a bottle people are so stupid they will buy it!"
Kinda scary to also think that society is already close, or already like the people of thneedville.

  11. Subbed

Sent from a Pineapple under the Sea.

  12. There's a musical episode of Arthur where they sing a song "Having fun isn't hard, when you got a library card". I think it has something to do with self harming
