possible sentences???

    **HYPOTHETICAL**

    (this is posed primarily to those in San Diego, CA, who have some sort of experience with the San Diego juvenile/misdemeanor court)

    Supposing a minor was busted at a public park at night, recieved citation for posession of approx. 2g's and has to go to court, in the San Diego Juvenile/Misdemeanor division.
    What would his/her sentence likely be?

    One source tells me that the person would recieve 1 month of TRC (teen recovery center), as he did, which included several random drug tests, and 2 classes a week. HOWEVER - this sentence was for his SECOND offense in this county, and it was also at school.

    Another source tells me that the person will have to attend ONE (1) session of anti-drug class, as he did (in a different courthouse, same county), and then he/she would be completely off the hook.

    Another source (police officer) says the person will be fined, and possibly recieve some mild community service.

    Who here has an idea of which is correct? for the situation.

    Review:
    - Juvenile
    - Citation for possion of MJ, 2g's
    - Totally clean record, prior to this offense

    well you'd think that, but none of the sources, including ones I didnt even cite, mentioned anything about a fine + community service.

    Thanks man, I try to make it easy on the eyes. big solid blocks of text can be somewhat straining for me.

    off topic but anyone watch cops(show) when they do drug stings lol one guys was like he took my money i didnt want the pot and the sacked his ass when he tryed to run away for a measly gram hahahaha

    I'm not sure about San Diego, but on my first bust in Minneapolis I did not have to go to court (did on my second, though)

    I received a letter in the mail basically asking if I was pleading no contest, or if I was saying I was innocent. In the event I plead no contest, I was to serve 2 days of STS (sentence to serve, mild community service, working 9-3, total of 6 hours), OR I would have a fine of 100$.

    It was considered a petty misdemeanor.

    You'll probably get community service. Thats what my friend got when he was busted with 4 grams. That was in Florida though.

    easy fine in between 20-100 dollers

    and anti drug class or C.O.P.S. class those suck i had to go to one when i was 13 lol

    if you are 18 or older its just a ticket/fine right there and you can pay it in the mail later.
