Possible Root Rot

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by Chlorophilia, Sep 13, 2010.

  1. Forgive me if this is addressed elsewhere, but I haven't been able to find photos that resemble what's going on with our darling girl.

We have an ailing plant that we suspect may have root rot. Unfortunately, problems with this site have prevented us from posting photos. The details: there's rot at the branch junctures starting at about 2/3 up the main stalk. There are also nodules formed near the rotting junctures. Finally, there's overall malaise.

These poor girls have suffered through some drastic environmental shifts, from being grown in pots outdoors to being moved to growing under lights inside, as well as some severe humidity this summer. We did a soil test and found the soil to be acidic at one point and have since flushed them pretty thoroughly.

This is growing in a commercial potting soil. We've been feeding all manner of things: primarily Miracle Gro for the first stages of its life, followed by the organic Pro Gro 5-3-4 scratch-in mix, then came worm castings (weak dilution: approximately 1:20 castings/water), and finally the Fox Farm "Big Bloom" mix of guano and castings (weak dilution: 1 cup:2 gallons).

We're new to indoor growing, so any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you kindly!

    Lisa
