Possible preflowers?

I've been doing a 12/12 cycle for about a week now. I decided to look around the stems for any preflowers, and I think I've spotted one. From the pictures I've seen, it looks like a female being elongated and having a pointy tip, although there's no hair yet.

    Here are some pictures:

I circled it in the one so you would know what I was referring to. This is really unrelated, but why does the HPS I'm using cause lines in the camera when I take a picture of my plants?

  2. Sorry, looks male. Correct to look for something pointy, but can be deceptive. Notice at the top of the preflower it seems to split and have 2 ends (crabclaw), female won't do that, won't appear to have anything at the end until hairs show. Tickles me that people don't see preflowers until 12/12. For many years i sex my seedlings by preflower mostly by week 3 from germination. Have NEVER had any plant go beyond 4 weeks of 19/5 light cycle in veg without showing preflowers. Great picture, wish i could do that!

  3. Yea, I agree luvtogrow, my biggest showed after about week three (see sig). To Mardanlin, is that the only plant you have? I hope it's not a male...*prays to ganja gods*

  4. No, I have 3, but this is the most mature one and only one showing signs of flowering so far. I can see how it looks like a claw from the picture, but I looked at it again up close and it isn't opening up at all. It's slightly bent at the tip, but that's it. I'll try to get a better picture if I can, but it really looks almost like a fat hair or something, or another one of the hairs on the side of the stalk.

  5. I don't get it either... By the 5-6th internode you can usually tell...the girls anyway. The boys can be tough...they sometimes pleasantly surprise you by really being a girl.

And to the original poster...anyone who could be qualified to tell you their opinion...will know where to look. But thanks for the circle... (did that sound shitty? I'm buzzed...wasn't supposed to) It could be a male...but DON'T chop yet. I don't chop males until I'm sure. You'll know in plenty of time...there's no rush unless space is an issue.

  6. Haha, no you didn't sound like an ass by saying that. I just didn't want people to think I was calling the hairs on the side (even though I don't know the name for those) the preflower, that's all.

Anyway, it's almost time to turn the lights off for the night and I observed it again. Lots of new preflowers are formed, some that looks like they have two hairs wanting to pop out.

I just went back and looked again and one of the preflowers up top DEFINITELY has a white hair (well, it's almost clear) popping out of the top. So is it possible this is a hermie or would you think it's all female? Like I said some of the preflowers have multiple pointy tips, so would that be the formation of lots of pollen pockets?

  7. idk if i can really saywhich it is yet, but those are the sex organs starting to grow

  8. how did it turn out?
