Possible overwatered?

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by Chilipadi, Oct 28, 2020.

  1. Can someone advise what us happening here. Leaves are droopy as if its overwatered but, I barely gave it too much water. I only water as less as possible. Last few days I only gave it like several drops of water on the root ball and 1 day no water and still no change.

Plant is a bagseed planted in coco with perlite.

  2. Yes, that could be overwatered. Think root health, and try to maintain a medium that is always at perfect moisture for root development. Too dry, then too wet can cause susceptability to overwatering, and also too wet all the time is a problem. Nobody gets it perfect. The most amount of oxygen without drying out is what roots like. From the picture, it looks like if you haven't done anything, it's probably already perking up. As the roots develop, they help dry out the medium after watering.

  3. If you are in soil, you want to be sure that the pots dry well before next watering. Get used to lifting up one end of pot with index finger and thumb to check weight. When you lift and it's light, then water

  5. The only thing ive done is give it less water than usual, like several drops on the root ball instead of around the stem. Been a few days already given drops of water.
What should i do next? I dont dare to not water since medium is coco.

  8. Yep, I missed that.

  9. Right, letting coco go dry is bad headache. So that is why it is often recommended to start seeds in small pots, since they dry out faster. In coco, you'll be fine. You just don't have enough roots yet to drink up the excess. Most of these soiless mediums do best on a once every 24 hour schedule. A little at a time often is not the way I like to do it. Once to thoroughly wet the medium evenly, then 23 hours to let it dry out.

  11. Thats how i water them and try my best not to over do it. This is my 6th grow in coco still new and learning. Never had a plant facing this kinda issue if u call it. Also its my first photo grow, been growing autos previously.

  12. Update:
Apparently ive underwatered them. After giving increased calmag & water she perked up alot next day and seems back to normal following day. She drinks alot compared to my experience with autos. This is my first photos.

  13. Opinions vary, but you could remove those big lower leaves now and give it a fresh growing spurt. I would remove everything below the good stuff, 1st 3 nodes. Save the original coyt leaves and let them die naturally.

  14. Remove the 1st set of leaves u mean? Or the first 2 sets?
Also i want to top them but not sure when they are ready. Thoughts?

  15. I top all my mainline autos above the third node. And then those 2 tops above their first node, then those 4 tops above their first node. Seems extreme, they look like sheared lambs. I always remove the first and second nodes. Preferably before I top.

  17. yes, that looks good. Topping will help even out the canopy vs tall christmas tree like plants with the very top getting too close to the light and the lower buds too far. It has very little or nothing to do with plant health. Anything you can do to even the canopy is an improvement over unimaginative Mother Nature. She's got other things on her mind.

  18. 2 weeks later, heres how she look like. I did a second topping on the top 2 branches and 1st topping on mid/lower branches. They turned out well imo, still learning as i grow.
Thoughts on the progress? Anything i can do to it base on this pic?
