Possible Grow Tent, Need Input and Ideas

  1. Alright, I'm not happy with my current closet CFL set up and I'm ready to swallow the bill and upgrade.
I feel like my new current plan will work, but I'd like some good input before I make the investment.

-I'll be using this grow tent. It's 32x32x70 inches
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...A3NYE73641VNA5
-For my lighting I'll get the digital ballast 600W MH for veg, and 600W HPS for flowering. (Will this work even though I don't know the kelvin??) The hood though is open and I don't think I can run ducting through it like cool tubes. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...A2WRS4X4C0GMOQ
-And I already have a 6" 240 CFM inline fan for exhaust that came with a 6" x 20" Carbon Scrubber. No intake. (How can I make passive intake without having light leaks?) (Should I get a 4" intake fan?)
-I will also have a clip fan near the middle on the inside and 9" box fan on the floor for extra air flow to promote stronger stems and wind.
-The temperature of the outside tent location would be around 65-75 yearly.

From this setup I would like to grow 5 plants with temps of around 75-80.
I can also incorporate 40W CFL's for more light if I have to for more lighting.

What are your thoughts? Please don't ignore. ):

  2. Could I get away with using only a 400W MH and HPS bulb?

  3. Yes, in the interest of your budget (dunno what it is), here's a better recommendation on the 600w light:http://www.amazon.com/Apollo-Horticulture-GLK600CT24E-Digital-Dimmable/dp/B00521B894/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1395420857&sr=8-3&keywords=600w+grow+light If you wanted to go with the 400w, here's a good one: http://www.amazon.com/Apollo-Horticulture-GLK400CT24E-Digital-Dimmable/dp/B00547I5I8/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1395421068&sr=8-3&keywords=400w+grow+light More light is always better, but I'd be concerned with heat in a 3x3. You could always dim the 600w if you have heat issues until you can get them resolved. Everything else looks good. Get a small hygrometer to measure humidity in the tent and you're good. GOOD LUCK! :bongin:

  4. Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it :smoke:
I think what I'm going to do is buy that tent and the 400W lighting system that you showed me. Should I put ducting on it? If I have to, is this a good way to set it up: Carbon Scrubber--->light---->Fan? Would that ventilate it enough? This is the fan and scrubber I have. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AZPSNO0/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I know I can't exceed the 500CFM limit on the scrubber, but what if it was at 480 and I got another 6" 240 CFM fan for intake? Would that be too much, or even necessary?
Could I just do passive intake?
I already got a thermometer that has a humidity meter on it.

  5. Filter>light>fan>out is the proper setup. A tent inherently has spaces for the air to come in also intake vents. Passive will work just fine, and you shouldn't have any heat/odor issues as long as you set it up that way. BTW, filtering doesn't work when you have the tent open.  Look for a DIY thread on ONA buckets.

  6. i have a milliard tent but the smallest one like 3 feet tall.. its great at this size but for the size u want i strongly recommend getting the lighthouse one because milliard has the plastic pieces in the corner while lighthouse has the metal snap ins..theyre both about the same price.

  7. and 400watts is good enough for up to a 4x4 so 400 is perfect for a 32x32..im sure the 600w will increase yield a little bit tho

  8.
Okay, good. Because I decided to get one that was 4x4 anyhow.
