If your using the black grommets and o-rings... Its not safe rubber. Silicon grommets would be a much safer choice. I Didn't know EDPM or common cheap black rubber was that dangerous.

I know alot of people still use it. I just wanted this info to be out there

OSHA Status- When EDPM is used for its intended purpose, this material is classified as hazardous

2. Could you post a pic of a bong like that?

3. What about plastic grommets?

4. Wait people still use rubber o-ring bongs? GonG's can be found for cheap as hell

5. LOL @ people who still buy those bongs with rubber stoppers, and those dumb glass spirals around their multicolored glass tubes.

6.
Could you post a pic of a bong like that?
I am also curious.

7. Heres a pic of one.

Interesting, I don't think I've seen a rubber stopper before.

I've been smoking for a couple years thanks, I guess I just don't have shitty pieces.

12. Like the black ring on top of a plastic bong?

13. My friends and I had a bong that had a tiny little stopper, although I doubt we used it enough for it to do any harm to us, but good to know. You'd have to get it heated enough for it to release something though, it's not like the rubber is being directly heated, probably more of a precaution/don't use them for extended periods

14. Very interesting! Thanks for posting! All the more reason to stick to the GonG bongs!

15. Read the Data sheet.

It has curing agents that some people could have an alergy to just by touching it. Dangerous stuff. OSHA thinks so.

Did read it, not worried about 'allergies'

Cancer, etc. long term effects, not shit that happens when you touch it

As I said, good info

17. Scary. I need a new bong.

18. Not worried? Just get silicon. It is much more stable. Under normal use EDPM is hazardous. Can you not smell/taste the rubber anyway.

You dont need a new bong just get Silicon grommets which are 100% safe.

19. I think it's time for a new bong anyway - I'm using an $18 rubber grommet/o-ring/whatever bong from a convenience store. Under a foot tall...

20. Huh? I don't have one, I have a glass on glass bong. I simply was responding to you saying 'read the data sheet', which I did, I don't care about allergies there's a ton of stuff that causes allergies, my concerns are with the other aspects, which I gave my opinion on. It's not going to cause anything unless you're using it longterm, but I think it's very good info and a good reason to not use them.
