yup. this is because we cant see underground. pretty simple. We are getting close, they think cally is overdue based on past quakes and current techtonic movement, but there is absolutly now way to know within any reasonable timeframe
"The Parkfield Prediction Experiment" was when scientists were monitoring the san andres and in 1985 predicted the next big one would kit by 1993, and had setup monitors up watching things for years. Well, 1993 came and went, but a large earthquake finally hit in 2000 something, and there were no warning signs at all, even with all the test equipment monitoring every day for years. So yeah, I think its safe to disregard any earthquake predictions.

pfff, If you're a kid I reckon it'd be hell fun to PANIC! But nup, I highly doubt it. I've researched this for uncountable hours, I wouldn't even make the effort to read it. Which I didn't.
