I've heard from a whole bunch of friends that posession is now pretty much overlooked if you're caught in the So Cali area. Now, this isn't much different than it was before cuz carrying under an oz. was a misdemeanor and you got a fine, but now I guess the cops are sick and tired of having to stop so many people from carrying just a couple grams and giving them a ticket that it's more or less okay to posess small amounts in cali now. I'm not sure though cuz it's just a rumor so far . . . anyone have any official documents on this?
I heard about this too on the Dopecast.. Which is the leading cannabis podcast out there pretty much. Im sure that in the So Cal and Hollywood area they instated that law *or lack of law* to which if you carry less than about 5 grams, they're not going to hunt you down.. But if they DO find it during a routine traffic stop or whatever they will indeed take it and you'll pay that standard 100 dollar fine. This is a step in the right direction and we now have the oppurtunity to show the government how repsonsible we really are. We cant possibly walk around irresponsibly if we are to achieve ANYTHING. Do NOT smoke up in public, or at least try to avoid it. Do not impose on the lives of others, be RESPONSIBLE. I am posting a thread about this now in Legalisation and Activism, so get in there!
This only applys to West Hollywood. West Hollywood has decriminalized the recreational use of marijuana by adults. Those with small smounts of marijuana can now peacefully, and responsibly, toke within their homes. West Hollywood realized that police enforcement must focus on a much more harmful drug that has been on the high rise, Meth. This doesnt mean that you can just spark up a blunt in the middle of the street. And this doesnt apply to anywhere else in SoCal, only in West Hollywood.
Yeh, I just found this: http://www.hempevolution.org/media/playfuls_com/p060621.htm Seems like the tiniest step forward, but whatever. I'm not in Hollywood, so I guess it doesn't really matter, but I figure that toking in your home is pretty much overlooked as long as nobody sees, hears, or smells you doing it. Sounds to me like this doesn't change much, seeing as MOST adults who smoke smoke in their home and do it responsibly.
