I have a 12 in. compvr and i ve had it for probably 5 years and i was wondering how it would sound in a ported box so ive decided that i would build one. Im good with building things and have the tools but i cant find out how to tune it, all i ve been able to find is people bickering about what tuning is the best/ Is there any way that i could design the box then have a moveable port to find the size that works best for me. If anyone could tell me how to calculate the port size and length of port that would be great. Btw i plan on making the box ~3ft^3
Your options are rectangular port, or circular port. I personally like circular port given it's the shape of the speaker... Unless you're rocking kickers, then square. As for the size, it makes a huge difference, call the people who make your sub and ask them, they'll give you exact numbers.
its a kicker comp vr. i already read the site and it said that you wanted 2.5-3 feet and then didnt really go into the demensions of the port but they did show box designs.
