Hey whatsup forum, this is my first thread on GC, although I've been browsing the forums for at least over a year now(I'm not the type of person to make threads on every question that comes in my head). Anyways, recently I've decided that I will be purchasing a portable vape but I'm having trouble deciding which is best. I think I've done enough research to narrow my choices down to the arizer solo and the Pax. Now, both seem like great choices but both also seem to have their pros and cons. From what I've read about the Pax, the general consensus is that it is an amazing piece. It's sleek, compact, high-tech, and best of all it's EXTREMELY portable. However, I have also heard a few minor issues such as the mouth piece getting stuck and getting too hot as well as the oven part. Oh, and it's also a bit more pricey. The arizer solo also looks like a good choice. The manufacturing quality is amazing, it has a longer lasting battery than the Pax(so I've heard) it has more heat settings+better vape quality and seems like it has an overall better look of solidarity. But, based on reviews I have seen, people have said that sometimes it does not vape bud evenly, the glass straw does not fit entirely into the hole, and also it tends to get vaped weed into your mouth because of a lack of a screen. So I really am not sure which one to buy. I'm not going to be purchasing my vape until winter break so I have time but its such a difficult decision. Does anyone know if any of the issues with each piece that I addressed above have been fixed by the manufacturing companies? The arizer has been out for almost a year now I believe and I'm sure there have been adjustments. I know each receives great customer support but I was wondering if there have been new models of each piece since their release. TL;DR Buying a portable vape after thanksgiving. Stuck between arizer and pax. Have there been improvements to each model since their release? Personal experience will be most appreciated.
Looks like you've done your research. If the Pax were priced the same as the Solo, this would be somewhat of a draw. However, at this point in time, the Pax costs $100 more than the Solo, which is excessive. The Solo's stems fit nicely; they wobble a little, but it's not a fragile wobble. The reason for this wobbling is that the opening to the oven gets bigger when hot, and shrinks somewhat when cold, but it's not really a problem for me and I can't say I'd prefer it if the stem was always firm in place. I also haven't noticed the Solo not vaping bud evenly. I've definitely found it vapes bud very efficiently; you can pull quality vapor off a measly half-stem until the bud is uniformly dark (or you can stop sooner and still have smokeable bud). The Solo's stock stems do tend to pull small amounts of vaped bud up through the stem after you've been vaping for a little while, but I can't say it bothers me. However, others have told me using a tighter screen with the stems makes the experience more enjoyable, which I'll have to try. Aftermarket stems pretty much solve all of these qualms as well. I'll buy one eventually but I'm pretty content with the stock stems for now.
If it's not too late, I'd suggest the Vapir NO2...This thing is great! And at a hundred dollars, it is a great deal. IMO the Vapir NO2 is somewhat comparable to the Arizer Solo, but you can used it while it's plugged in, unlike the Arizer.
If you buy an aftermarket charger, you can use the Solo plugged in. The Solo's battery life is also substantially longer and from what I've read, it's a much better vape. But I'd still like to try an NO2.
I agree with the battery, but with an aftermarket charger, that would add too much money to the Solo. After that I'd look into a different vape. But the NO2 is $50 cheaper than the Solo, and you don't need an aftermarket charger. If you're not completely relying on using it on the go, then I'd suggest the NO2 just because of the price. I absolutely love mine. One of my roomate's rooms is like 5 feet from mine and I can still use it in my room as long as I just turn my ceiling fan or something on. Great to just plug in and sit back and vape while watching a movie or something. It doesn't give off huge vapor clouds, but it still definitely gets the job done.
I'd spend the extra and get the solo. If you've got some decent ground up bud and you set it on 4 you can get some huge vapor clouds. Plus if you buy one of Ed's solo stems you can use it in any 14mm waterpipe. Edit: and you can get high efficiency stems, GonG adapters, Stealth adapters, and screens that fit the solo perfect from planet vape.
