Portable Heaters

  1. Hi Everyone:  Long Time Toker, First Time Grower!  I just finished my first attempt at growing indoors and have to say, though my yield was not much (1 1/2 ounce) I'm happy with that.  I made a lot of mistakes, but people here were very nice in helping me along the way. I now have a dog crate that I will be using for my next attempt.  It's pretty large and can accommodate two 5 gallon buckets with room to spare.  My question is regarding portable heaters.  I've researched this site and others but can't seem to find what I'm looking for.  I need a heater that will oscillate and have temperature control and , of course, small...  Any recommendations?

  2. I used to use a small portable heater, then i cut a whole in my duct and just piped in heat and cool. But i just bought a small one witha temp set cause you can fry them real quick. Just watch your temps cause it shouldn't atke to much to heat a dog crate i have a 4x4 tent. Good luck.

  3. Thanks!  Which one did you buy?  I have one with a thermostat and it turns off once it reaches the proper temp, but it's too big for the crate.  I mean it would fit but then I would only be able to put one 5 gallon bucket instead of two.  So I'm looking for something really small.

  4. Could you possibly draw warm air in from somewhere else rather than the crate having the heater inside? Kill two birds with one stone...... Fresh and warm air coming into the crate.

  5. Unfortunately that isn't possible. I was thinking that maybe I could use a warming pad, like what they use for reptiles.  But I'm not sure if it would maintain a good warmth for the crate.  Right now, it's not too much of a concern because the weather is finally warming up.  But come September/October, which is when I think the plants will go into Harvest, the cold might be an issue.

  6. Sorry i don't remember but mine was pretty big i have a 4x4 tent.
