I used to play and was good at it because I learned to play billiards and snooker in the UK on a proper table. Which is like, I dunno, six times the size of a pool table? And the pockets are MUCH smaller. When I lived in San Francisco a Black pool hustler, Les, taught me one-hand pool. I used to be able to clear in one to three breaks. One hand is never as easy as using both hands but when your opponent sees you shoot one hand, his confidence takes a dive.

I still play but I've got to go into town and none of my friends are much good. They are still trying to figure out the angles, they haven't got to how hard to hit it, or spin, yet... in England jump shots are forbidden but I saw that a lot in the USA.
