pond water

    im growing a patch outdoors and my water source is a pond. Is pond water ok to water my plants with?

    I'd sterilize it first but thats me. It should be fine, just make sure the pH of the water is around 6.0.

    Pond water should be fine, lots of farmers irrigate with surface water. IMO the pH of the soil is much more important than the pH of the water, but even then, unless the pH is WAY off in either direction, you should be able to grow bountiful buds.

    i thought it would be alright i just had to hear it from some one else. i threw some dolomite lime in my soil, that should stabalize the ph even if the water is off

    what would be a easy way to steralize the water. Is there something i can mix in the water thats safe for my plants

    Boil it, then let it cool :)

    its not exactly in my back yard so that would be hard for me to accomplish. Thanks for the advise
