I have a pond in my back yard, it's just one of those dig a hole put in a plastic liner types. Maybe 10 feet wide/long and it has a pump running in it to make it a fountain that has a pretty crappy filter system on it running in the pond, not sure if that's relevent. But the way the hole was dug the pond liner is a little off and oddly enough it has become an animal slayer. For a while last summer i found a dead bird or mole in the pond every day and they would stew sometimes for a week or so. Also over the winter a few fish died and stayed in the pond all winter along with leaves and muck, and a few lilly pads. I haven't actually used any real fertilizer per say but I water my plants with this pond water and i've read places that good plant fertilizer has something to do with fish. Will this be enough fertilizer or will i need to actually buy some from a plant store? i'll post a pic of it soon.
