Polski's 2nd grow - clones

Discussion in 'Marijuana Grow Journals' started by polski, Nov 20, 2004.

  1. Hi All,

Been very lazy over the last 5 weeks, maybe something to do with my first harvest !

I've got 3 clones taken from my first grow. The clones were taken at 2 weeks into flowering and I had a battle to get them back into veg state. They all seemed to stop growing for 2 weeks, but all took hold and continued to veg.

I had no problems with the largest plant, but the other 2 had Ph problems which I almost overwatered by flushing the soil, again this stunted growth for a couple of weeks and they're only now beginning to take hold again.

My hope is to put the clones into the flowering cycle at 4 week intervals, which should keep me well stocked up for a while.

  2. Hi All,

Plants all seem to be doing well. The largest of my clones has been flowering for 2½ weeks now and is coming along fine. I clipped the top off her (before putting into flower) and she bushed out nicely. I also tried bending the stalks each day to try and strengthen them (I had read this on a previous thread) and it works !! I've now got 4 nice stalks which should hopefully result in a nice 'crown' of bud :)

The other 2 clones are also doing fine, hopefully about 2 weeks time until I put the larger of them into flower and the smaller one can have another 6 weeks vegging before going into flowering. I've also taken another 2 clones which I'm rooting in a glass of water, 1 has shown a root, but nothing from the other yet.

My growroom is exactly the same as the last time. Height is not a problem as the plants are only going to get to about 3ft max this time. I'm still using my faithfull 125w flouro (red spectrum) for flowering and a desk lamp with 2 x 9w flouros (blue specrum) for vegging.
The results last time were better than I could have hoped for:) . The strain is Skunk#1 x Hawaiian.

  3. Hi All,

This is my girl 2½ weeks into flowering.
The stalks have grown nicely and are producing plenty of bud sites (I'm still hoping for a crown of bud;) )
She's now getting fed Hydro Pro fert twice a week, the 3rd watering I use mineral water only.
Will try to post weekly updates from now on, any comments or advice would be cool.

    Happy growing.......

  6. Hey Folks,

Hope all are well. Thanks to Wylde1 and Naomi for the comments.
The plants are doing fine. The largest is now 4 weeks into flowering and beginning to smell real nice. She's only about 2½ foot tall, and is producing nice firm buds. They've not put on much weight in the last week or so, but I know from my last grow, that the weight should start going on pretty soon.

Pics attached of 2 other clones - the largest of these has just gone into the flowering room(2 days after this photo was taken), I've trimmed a few branches around the middle and plan to take the bottom branches off over the next few days, I'm hoping this will let all the goodness go to the top of the plant - Any advice from someone who's done this before would be cool, I dont want to stress it out too much.
The smaller clone has come on really well over the last week and will be joining the other 2 in the flowering room soon. The small one is only about 10 inches high - again, any advice from anyone who's flowered a plant at this height would be appreciated.

    Cheers for now........happy growing...........

  9. Hi

your plant looks healthy....is that a 85w cfl your using....laters

  10. Hi THC

It's a 125w red spectrum CFL. I've had really nice results using this lamp before.
This plant, although half the size of my last ones, looks like its going to produce more than last time round.
I've read up on these lamps and the 125w produces good results, but its effective range is only 18 inches. That's the reason I'm keeping the plant short in height, hopefully it'll pay off !!

    Cheers.

  11. nice job, ur grow looks superb. i have alotta light on my plant and was also considering a short flowering stage, hope that turns out well, check out my grow, my thread also has a lack on input from the members! hehe. :D but not to worry, i know people read, not everyone has the time to write tho. me included.

let me know about the quality of your buds when u harvest, how did ur last harvest turn out? i'm just happy to see others do as well or better than i am doing, this is my first grow lol. have a nice day!

  12. Hi All,

All 3 clones are in the flowering room now. One is now 5 weeks into flowering and the other 2 are 1 week into flowering.
Some of the leaves on the biggest one have started turning yellow over the last few days. I've given it a pinch of epsom salts in the water yesterday, hopefully this will do the job, but if anyone has any advice, please let me know. The top of the plant is still looking fine, the buds have a nice fruity smell to them - a bit like ripe melon:) .

  15. Wow, awesome job. I hope mine looks as good in a few months. Nice bud shots. Is it high maintence growing them under those light? Course it is always a labor of love

  16. another good cfl grow! im tempted to give it a go just to see how it produces, you guys do a good job with this! lookin foward to seeing the harvest!

  17. Cheers ND, I'm not sure if she's going to make it to 60 days flowering, more of the leaves have turned yellow overnight (16 hours after epsom salts added to water) I'm going to try flushing with mineral water as a last resort.

Lucian, My growing is very low maintenance. I have no fans, no timers, no heaters, just me, some nutrients, the plants and a bulb !

Will update soon, I'm going to try putting some photo's up in the 'sick plants' forum

    Cheers for now..........

  18. Hi All,

Just a quick update. The plant with the yellowing leaves seems to have recovered. Pic attached of how many leaves were lost in 4 days. They all seemed to shrivel and turn brown really quickly?. Have given the plant a good watering with mineral water and that seems to have done it. Will try giving some diluted nutrients during the week.
Buds up top are still looking fine, nearly 6 weeks into flowering now. Will put more pics up at the weekend.

    Happy growing.............

  19. Hi All,

Plants are now 2 weeks into flowering and getting fed Hydro pro twice a week. They're coming on fine but will hopefully come on even more once they get under the reflector (I'm about 8 days away from harvesting the other plant) - they're off to the side at the moment but I've altered the angle of the reflector to spread a bit of light toward them. The smallest of the plants is only about 1foot tall but is producing nice bud sites on all 3 branches. The other one is also showing lots of nice bud sites - I trimmed off a few of the lower branches a couple of weeks ago, she doesn't seem to have any ill effects from this.

Pics attached show the top view of plant at 2 weeks flowering and the other shows all 3 plants in the growroom. The sunflowers you can see hanging in between plants are fly killers !! - I've got these little black flies that seem to live in the gap between the soil and the edge of the pot? They run over the soil surface or round the rim of the pots all the time. The fly killers I'm using are supposed to be stuck to windows but I thought hanging them by thread was just as good !

  20. Hi All,

Pics attached are plant at 45 days into flowering. She's still recovering from the yellowing of the leaves in these photos but she is now fully recovered (these photos are 4 days old). I've trimmed a few of the palm leaves to let more light at the bud, it doesn't seem to have done any harm. Will put up more pics tomorrow - I'm hoping it'll only be 8 more days to harvest.

    Cheers for now

    Happy growing..............
