Pollinating l.r.

Discussion in 'Indoor Cannabis Growing' started by Dread7Green, Nov 24, 2006.

  1. I'm going to be growing lowryder plants. I'm thinking about doing 5 at a time instead of all ten at once. With the first five i want to pollinate one whole plant to ensure seeds for future planting (you cannot clone with lr). i have a stealth grow, 5x4x3 totaly sealed box. One exhaust fan covered with carbone filter, one intake vent.

I want to polinate inside the smae box that i am growing in. So if i got 3 females and 2 males i'll take the pollen from one male, chop both males and polinate one female. My question is will this spread to other plants in the box? And what should i do to prevent any future polen from getting on new grows?

    Thanks

  2. im almost 100% sure you would pollinate all of the females in the box.

id say you should take the one out you wanna knock up and do it in a completely separate part of the house and then rig up a small setup to flower that one plant in. like with a few cfls or something.

  3. I agree thats what i want to do but i have no room whatsoever for another grow box of any sort. Thats why i was thinking about doing it another way.

How about if i just pollinated one plant that was in the box (ie only planted one mj seed) grew it through and used the seeds.. what would i have to do for cleaning the box for the next grow to ensure the next grow won't get pollinated.

  4. a solid cleaning would do the trick. Scrubbing everything down with bleach would do the trick. im not 100% bout if you have mylar what the clorox would do to that, but for like the fans and light i would get the computer duster thing and a vacum and blow everything off the fans and lights and such and into the vacum.

make sure everything has been cleaned... even the area around the box... just to be real safe.

some people around hunt and such and come home to their plants, the simply shower when they get home and keep the clothing they wore in the woods in a part of the house completely separate from the plants.
