He never said the U.S. was a banana republic. He was just using a banana to symbolize the body politic to explain why statism is counter-productive when the majority of people want to help 'the poor'. I think the 'analyzing a banana republic' part in the intro was meant as a joke. thanks guys. This video years back changed how I viewed things. I figured I need to post it here because it may change someone else's beliefs or show you a different perspective on things.
