Police Smell Weed = Allowed to break-in and arrest

  1. its called probable cause and its always existed, just like they can search your car if they smell weed.

  2. hahaha, that sucks for those that don't got a medical card

  3. Not when you're specifically free from unwarranted search and seizures as appointed by constitutional rights.

But we do we all know about consitutional rights

  4. but that all goes away when they smell the weed. hence, probable cause to seach

  5. Seems a little odd that cops know what weed smells like huh.

  6. no actually... not at all.

  7. I would think they would be trained a little.

  8. Last time I checked in order to enter a house you needed probable cause to get the search warrant.

It has NEVER been legal for an officer to obtain probable cause, skip the search warrant, and enter a household without permission.

This decision completely voids the warrant phase. Does that mean we're ignoring the fourth amendment now?

  9. No. If the police have evidence that you are committing a crime (ie. the smell of marijuana) that gives them the right to search your property. If they want to search without probably cause, they need a warrant.

  10. so if a cop hears a gun shot he has to go out of his way to get a search warrant before going into the house?

doesnt that sound pretty stupid to you?

  11. lol, more stupid then a cop breaking into your house for no reason other than being a cop?

No, no it doesn't sound that stupid to me.

  12. violent crimes are an entirely different matter

  13. Thats ridiculous that anyone would compare a violent crime to smoking weed.

I hate how so many opinions favoring the police in their search, they all throw them into the same catagory, a woman screaming, a cry for help, a gunshot...Sigh...

This world is giving me a headache.

  14. Here's the problem with this. Cops might just LIE and say that they smelled pot just so they can raid a suspected users house.

  15. They do that, I know for a fact they do, because they pulled me nd my friends over once, BEFORE ANY OF US smoked weed (although we were on our way to get it) we havent smoked in that car for a day at LEAST, and he said he smelled weed.

  16. fyi the cops dont give a shit, to them you are a criminal just like a murderer, and like people have already said they will lie about the smell.

There has to be some police stations with a good amount of lenient, good, trustworthy cops.

I'm so pissed at cops for everything, I just wish that one time, i had a very valid and great case against a cop for something they did, something i can sue them over and get them back for everything they've done.

They best not break down my bolt lock and chain. idk how they would unless they just destroyed the door. Which is like, wtf, die cop, just go fucking throw yourself over a bridge, and die you shitty cop. You don't even deserve to be called a police officer, or an officer of the law, you're just a cop, just a shitty cop, one of the cops on "Cops" the one that really isn't using his head, cept they're all that shitty dumb cop from "Cops" just a bunch of failure cops not doing their job to their fullest potential.

    *rants*

  18. if there's suspicion that you're destroying evidence they can. Really there is waay to much discretion for police officers.

What sickens me the most is how if you're a cop you're somehow above the law. Copsdo stupid shit all the time, blow through intersections and kill innocent bystanders, drink and drive over the limit, conduct unnecessary and dangerous raids to get their kicks, yet they never get charged or reprimanded when they make a mistake. Fucking blows all the pigs look out for each other. Fuck them
