Police Raid Cannabis Cup in Amsterdam

CANNABIS CULTURE - Amsterdam police are in the process of raiding the High Times Cannabis Cup for the first time in its 24-year history.

Cannabis Culture received several messages from Cup-goers this morning, warning that police have swarmed the location and are searching people before letting them leave and confiscating marijuana.

A video sent to CC by an attendee of The Cup show a police officer looking at a table while an announcement over the loud speaker talks about the police entering the building and says in English: "You need to leave the building through the exits. When leaving the property, you will be subjected to a search by police [inaudible] of the opium act."[/quote]

This is stupid, why are the police allowed to raid the CC this year, but not in the past 24 CCs? MAKES SENSE.

Also, later in the article it says that all the people are getting their buds confiscated, but not receiving any additional fines or charges. The first time this has happened in 24 years. Great job, officers.

  2. I hope they like losing all their tourism

  3. Stupid move on their part. Now they have to legalize weed somewhere else so they can host the Canabis Cup their.

  4. Yeah, let's hope it's somewhere in North America.

  5. It's not legal there just decriminalized...ohio is decriminalized but doubt a cannabis cup would ever happen...maybe Vancouver since they have a mini one

  6. Canada should take this chance to fully legalize marijuana in some cities and get probably at least 80% of Amsterdam's tourism

or better yet, the US should. The government sure as shit can use the cash flow....

  7. I read this on one site: http://www.eastbayexpress.com/LegalizationNation/archives/2011/11/23/amsterdan-cannabis-cup-raided-first-time-in-24-years

  8. We can't legalize anything with that fucker Harper in charge though...
Because he would never allow a national referendum.
    Because he's retarded.
