How did he become a hostage in the first place?

  3. Ya cause the cops just wanna kill innocent people.

In a high stress situation where your life is in danger, accidents happen. Unfortunate.

  4. you just think they would react a bit differently. im not saying theyre out to kill people or anything, just that they seem to be lacking some training.

This is the reason why hostage situations are so challenging/nightmare for police. You don't know who is who and lives are hanging by a thread.

"Officers said they believed that Henderson had a weapon and reported that he didn't comply with their commands, at which point they fired on him. No weapon was recovered from Henderson."

So they didn't see a weapon they held the opinion that Henderson had a weapon. This unjustified killing got the 3 officers involved a paid vacation.

(Insert sarcasm) I'm sure this will be a chilling effect to other trigger happy police.
