Please post this to your facetubebook [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Kw969TmGWU&feature=sub]YouTube - Police Chief Says Global Drug War is a Failure[/ame] The more people know about whats really going on, the faster we can reverse these harmful, degrading, and outright stupid laws.
Of course its a failure. The same people who are going to do drugs are going to do drugs regardless of the laws, plus its a huge waste of money
McNamara, ah during the election last year he was one of the only people who came out in support for Prop 19.
haha i got a LEAP "Legalize ,It saves lives" button from them from the hemp expo in 09 ,there we tons of stoner all a around them and everything that guy said about the DEA can be summed up to.. ..>_>....(*whispers*"there trying to build a prison~"*)
The drug war IS NOT A FAILURE. Just ask all the cops, DA's, judges, prisons, rehabs, and pharmaceutical companies that reap HUGE profits, or even just have a job period, because of the global drug war. This war on the people is worth literally billions of dollars. As long as you have a job, and your salary is consistently increased, the war on drugs in your eyes is a huge success. Not to mention the powers that the DEA now hold would be vanquished. Who would want to give up that kind of power? http://www.nytimes.com/2010/12/26/world/26wikidrugs.html
the drug war is a failure. they will never be able to stop people from smoking. there wasting time and money. if it was leagal they could tax it and make money instead of loose it. and rehabs dont work either. my freind was there almost a year and as soon as he came out he wanted to blaze.
The war on drugs is WHY the cartels can make sooo much money. Illegal substances bought on the black market are worth MUCH than they would be legal.
Heres the catch: The war on drugs is fueled by money and power. Bet you didn't know that the CIA is the biggest domestic drug smuggler we have here in the states. Do you really think that its coincidence that soon after we invaded the largest heroin exporting country in the world (Afghanistan) heroin became a lot more prevalent? Its a win win situation, the government supplies the drugs, then fights them. As long as they keep supplying them, they'll have something to fight. Depending on how greedy they are depends on how much they smuggle in. The bigger "the problem" is, the more money they can devote to the cause. My heart jumped a little when i read the title, because this scene flashed through my mind: Gil Kerlikowske makes a statement on live T.V. and offically ends the drug war, legalizes all drugs, and downsized the DEA by 75%. He then walks of air, quits his job, gets in his personal limousine and lights up a fat spliff on his way home. Of course, his ride gets ambushed and he's assassinated by angry ex-cons.
