Hello everybody! This is my second grow. My first although somewhat failed still left me feeling fairly successful with such a nice harvest for the grow area i had on that first run. Last run was all soil and plagued by fungus gnats( yeah it wasn't all that bad but still it's bugs!). This time around i have a new gorilla tent 4'x4'x80" with a 600 watt hid and i'm going to run two plants in soil in the box witch are already going. A clone i picked up named violet witch is a gobstopper and a feminized seed i dropped the day before yesterday witch is a THC bomb. I'm going to put the two dwc buckets in the gorilla tent and i'm still not 100% sure yet but it will have either two heisenberg specials for the comparative grow or it will have one of those and one pineapple chunk. Jack at the vault sent me some extra freebies so that may change if it's something awesome. Anywho since my first journal is title first timer i felt a need to create a new more permanent home for my journal so here i am. I'll kick this off with a quick recap video of the first run for anyone who stops in and missed it. Now here's the new babies Violet and Betty. I'll get more picks up of the whole room soon but for now i'm waiting on lights that got held up in weather and a good sized order of seeds to get here. Another batch of seeds came from single seed today, they were ordered 4 or 5 days after my vault order and i'm still waiting on it. Of course the vault was the big order. . . Anyway look at these 9 pound hammer seeds, Damn they're pretty!
Just had a pretty good scare. Walked into my room and notice there's not freakin air coming out of my fan, maybe like 15 cfm was coming out. I checked my ducting and the part coming out of the light had the black inner core come lose from the silver and blow up like a baloon from the heat cutting off the air, glad i found it soon because of my excessive paranoia about my plants health lol. The box was 86f but only for a few. Bettys head is startign to poke out of the soil already as of this morning, hoping tomorrow i have a sprout to take a pic of. This is the ducting i use, i'm not saying avoid it but if you use it to exhaust heat make sure you check the hottest parts for interior bubbles if your air stops. Got a new clock, i likes it. It keeps my room lit like a nightlight but since it's green it won't disrupt my night cycles. Also mounted a green accent light behind the box and blacklight accents on top, Yeah i wasn't thinking on that one just trying to make my grow room easier to chill out and smoke a doob in.
Woke up this morning to a nice little surprise, Meet Betty my little THC Bomb baby! I started betty in light warrios with about 30% perlite added in, no nutrient for at least a week this time. I like this light warrior a lot better for seed starting. It seems harder to over water this stuff too but they might just be experience creeping in finally. Violet is recovering nicely from her stressed out period. The new growth looks fantastic but the middle growth got burnt up and collected some purple stems. The flowering seems to be dying down, Still can't believe i accidently had them on 8 hour nights and it made her start flowering. With any luck she'll revert back to veg on 18/6. She'd getting so bushy i may later today or tomorrow start leaning her over to get all that side growth to start coming up. In this shot below you can see really well how much better the new growth looks, pristine compared to the stress period leaves. Hope i didn't hermie her!
Gorilla tent is working, everything looks good. Just waiting on beans now. lol i'm glad i'm looking at this pic because i just realized i forgot to seal one side of the exhaust fan! Actually now to the point of wishing i had a little more to do in there but all i have now is a couple boxes to unpack and some cleaning, yay! Comparative beans need to htfu.
Started doing a heat test, having some problems with breakers breaking but almost have this figured out. I need to make sure the buckets insulate the water well enough. Don't think it's going to be a problem. I love the see through plastic window on the gorilla tent too! This is gonna be the hom for my heisenbergs.

Hope so! So i'm done testing the heat and i got my breaker issue resolved by running an extension cord for the two fans and the air pump from another room. The temps in the tent hover around 77 and the temps in the water in the buckets hold at around 68 with the light as low as it will go and 3 gallons bubbling in them with some hydroton in the basket. Thinking it's as dialed in as i'm gonna get it and while 68 isn't perfect it certainly looks better than 70 witch one was showing but the temp prob had it suction cup come lose and was floating so it was measuring air too. Think i got this, just waiting for beans now! if i do well this run in the dwc maybe next run will be my pretty run, can mix up the pakistan chitral kush witch i mainly bought because as far as i can tell many people consider it to be the prettiest bud to grow out there and maybe some deep purple and/or lemon kush headband witch it turns out i did in fact get i just forgot it came back in stock right before i made my order. This is why i shouldn't shop stoned. Good for the vault. . . Bad for my wallet.
Still no gnats, i'm going to go out on a limb and say the first gnatrol treatment worked 100%. I'm giving it another one today because any eggs in the soil would hatch in four days so there might be some fresh larvae but they're about to find out what war is about! Boy did i forget how slow seedlings grow while they're rooting. I can't wait to see little betty grow up provide us with some awesome smoke. Her leaves are finally visible on day two, needed a magnifier to make sue they were ok yesterday. She looks great to me and i think this time i have the soil correct and the water in the soil correct. Violet the gobstopper clone i have no idea the age of only that she's been here about a week. I'm planning on topping and lst'n the shit out of her so betty can catch up then flowering them together. Now that violet's had some recovery time she's really starting to grow, i'm guessing the roots really liked the bed of mykos i set them on. In this shot you can really see now how healthy the new growth looks in comparison to the period of stress right below it and down to the bottom from the damn pyrethrins. Have to admit i don't like seeing the purple branches but the new ones are green so i should contribute the reddening of those middle ones to stress i'm assuming or maybe a nute locking during the stress. Actually i do see a little on the top branch, maybe they're just red or maybe there's still an issue.
I never started from seeds so I was very impatient... you think it's not growing but really it is ... just under the soil roots are going everywhere. But now having past the seedling stage I can't wait to start more seeds.
I was panicking over every little brown spot on my first grow, what i did to violet in the beginning this time would have given me a heart attack last time.
when my vault package comes in I'm gonna start 6 more so I have 10 total. My vault seeds are all fem so not worried but I have 4 reg seeds already started so Idk how many males I have subbed becuz I want a indoor set up like this
I'm doing 4 right now but soon i should be able to upgrade to either growing 6 at a time or a four plant perpetual. don't really have space for more since i'm in a little apartment and these two boxes take up pretty much the whole room. Last run as well i had some odor issues, literally you could smell the shit 15 feet in any direction from my apartment after it built up for a while. I suspect though it was the piece of crap carbon filter i got, picked up a better one this time and hoping it does better. Went with an apollo. I know people slam apollo a lot because they're cheap but the 600 watt light i got produced 381 grams from that box on my first grow. the ballast and both bulbs are still working and it has a 3 year warranty anyway. I haven't experienced the shitty apollo equipment it just works great for me.
I have no idea about light brands I picked up 2 htg t5 fixtures. Check out their site they have tons of stuff and they are on eBay. Htgsupply.com
My t5s are apollo and were dirt cheap and are still kicking ass. I've had 2 bulbs burn out in 4 grows, not too shabby. Sent from my LGL22C using Tapatalk
My big vault order got to town this morning. Getting antsy, Hopefully will have some picks of my cash of seeds later. Honestly debating if i want to blow up my journal with photos again or if i want to dial them back to every couple/few days. Might have gone a little overboard last time.
I'm bad with the pics, worried about what i'm gonna do to the comparative thread hehehe. Between me and GHG that threads gettin blown up with photos.
