  1. Hi y'all! I just "hooked up" with Grasscity today, even though I have been following for quite a few months now.... I have an indoor system.. 5 ladies... 3 from killer that i was lucky enough to find seeds in.... and 2 fems from the UK... ( i saved the rest)

Okay.. my basics i picked up from Granpa's Grow guide... i wanna give that man a hug for getting me started..
my supplies from from a grow store a few counties away, and was sold by a very eager young man who thought i was in to grow heirloom tomatoes, and he was motived by his comission... $650 later, i left with a 600 watt, 2 types of organic dirt.. organic fert, and flowering stuff for later, pots etc. (I think i got screwed without a kiss, but i wanna do this right and save myself some serious $$)
Anywhoo... My 3 ladies from the bag:
First about 4 weeks in, I changed their light to 12/12.. and lost 1 : ('
With my mimimal knowledge ( I do a lot of research) i think the others are fem...
Okay they are 50 days old and my uk gals are 39 days ( I couldn't waitto plant the first batch!!)
They are BEAUTIFUL! As soon i can locate my camera i'll send some pix (if i can .. i am REALLY new to some of this!!)
Big .. full... bushy.. and short... I pinch off the "center" from time to time.. my husband gets scared... but it seems to be working...
I fert once a week... fan i place... water everyday...
I won't lie... I look at my gals at LEAST 3 times a day!!! I love em!
Temp stays around 80 with humdiity 40- 60 percent (with dry forced heat, thats pretty good!)

I rambled so you know where i am at....
How big do i let them get to be inside and realistic...
and how much bud will i get?
Any advice? As i said, i am more or less following granpa's guide...
Remember, I am a virgin.. this is my first time
my space is totally shitty... 3 ft x 10 ft.. but its working

  2. Totally confused...what's the deal with the UK seeds? I keep thinking you are UK but then you talk in dollars...ah well doesn't really matter I guess.

You are watering every day? You are likely in serious danger of over watering! Let them dry out so that the roots have to search for the water. Don't water if you put your finger an inch into the soil and feel damp.

Depending on the strain, your plants will grow 2 or 3 times bigger during 12/12.

Got to go, lady offering food :hello:

  3. No.. i am in the US... but I bought some seeds from the UK...

I check my soil and it is bone dry in the mornings... i am hoping with spring on the way humditiy will rise and I can do less lugging of water!!
(when we figured a space..we should have thrown in some plumbing!!!)

2-3 times bigger????? Holy hell.. my space is only 3 feet wide!! This could be fun...

Thanx for your info.... as i said, when i find my camera ill post some pix.. i am sooo proud of my ladies.. i want y'all to see em!

  4. Get some pics up so we can share in your delight!

  5. how big is your space LxWxH? are you tieing the plant down?

  6. Hey newgirl!

Good question. I feel a nonsensical mathematical moment coming on, so we'll save it for last.

Some. Too many variables to guess.

Post some pics, start a journal, get all the advice you could want. Some you don't want too, no doubt.

    Stop worrying, I'll be gentle.

(Height of your cabinet(C), minus about 30" for your light(L) (depending on your ventilation) and the height of your final pots(P), divided by 3, equals max Vegheight(V). ish. Ha!

    C-(L+P)/3=V

I bet that won't work on a calculator.

Here's an example straight from my own flower cab:

    I have 10 feet (120") of cabinet height.(C)
My 600w HPS is 6" tall, and (without venting) requires 24" between the bulb and the plant to avoid bleaching the top leaves. 30" total.(L)
My final pots are 20" tall.(P)

    Using the above equation;

    120 - (20 + 30) / 3 = 23.3

23.3 inches, so around 2 feet is my max veg height.

I can increase this with the use of a cooltube, and some big fans.

Someone will no doubt be along to tell me how much simpler I could have made all that, but I shall secretly be dancing up and down with my fingers in my ears, singing "La-La-La-La-La", and not particularly caring.

    :D
