Im 2 wks into the 12/12 cycle..I just started using a high P nurtritent..this is the first grow for me and i am a female and thank god out of 7 dead plants so is the last remaining one I have,,,I use u shaped bulbs (3) 2 Fish aquarium bulbs with good spectrum or something like that.. a plant spotlight type bulb and a large cool with fluro..and to of those spiral light bulbs..it is really rigged funny as you will see in photo.. iout grow the phottotron so im improvising..my leaves are somewhat curling in since going on the flower cycle..most in middle of plant and toward bottom and some up top too..is my pot big enough? im seeing pistils but am worried about overall appearance of plant..please any suggestions will help!! worried female!!
Also I used some organic compost and just potting soil..most of the veggie stage was outdoors then i brought it in to go under lights at nite..now its totally inside due too the cold weather where i live..i use a fan only since the flower stage and now indoors..i water now about 1/2 gallon of h2o every two days or 3 days is there a rule of thumb to water the plant?
Im a newb at growin, but i wanted to say that it's lookin pretty good, and welcome to the city. I think your pot is big enough, but you may wanna upsize just incase. P.S.- It's reccomended that you double check my advice, i've been know to be very wrong with growing stuff.
It depends on how tall you want the plant. General rule of thumb is for every 2 feet, you want 1 gallon for the pot. So, for example if your plant is 6 feet tall, youll need atleast a 3 gallon pot. It might be a good idea to pack up that pot with soil if its large enough. It might be just me, but that pot looks pretty big.
Pot size looks fine - I had a 5 and a half footer in one of those big patio tubs - lol. I'd also prolly top up the soil like Anony suggested. lookin' good tho lass
Hey your pot for your pot is fine. Could you take a picture of your lighting setup, and if you know, how many watts each bulb is? If she's used to outside and you bring her inside under not enough light, she gets sad and droops. Edit: Oh that IS the phototron. Cool.
it is united states gallon but as i keep reading im hoping i havent hurt the girl..i only have done that on the last month or so..more then i use to water..the stalk looks huge so i figure it needed more h20..I also wonder when can hash be made, found a easy recipe but can I use leaves that were from veggie stage? ive been saving some clippings and freezing em..or only bud makes good hash? i want to utilize the plant the best i can if it all turns out well..is this plant big for flowering? its about 3.5 months old and 2.5 wks into the flowr stage..pistils are coming in ok..how big should most flowers be>>i am going to go the long haul and 12/12 it the whole time till i mature it enough to harvest..this plant stresses me out all the time..i spent so much time on it and worry somthing will go wrong!! any how any suggestions are great since im so worried all the time..too bad i dont smoke because ide love to right now..i have to drop for the court system and cant afford the possiblility to show up dirty..by the way..does handling the plant enter into my body system and could i show up with a effected urine drop from the plant? help me out someone? female who worries too much!! My total wattage is 300 watts..with many various bulbs..cool white fluoro.. 2 spirals ......a plant light some heat is emitted....2 salt water aquariium bulbs that they say help with coral reefs to grow ect..and 3 U shaped bulbs from the phototron..ill nevar use it again too small but someone gave it to me..good for small plants though..thanks all and dont laugh at my setup its what i could find at home and some I bought..used latter to help prop lights and cords ect..looks so funny but hey its workin out .. lots of love to you tokers and jokers..
never heard of anyone showing + after handling plants! - but then almost everyone i know smokes anyway! Don't forget to flush out regularly - Especially when changing fert types - get lots of water running out of the drain holes. & yeh - top up to the first set of leaves if u can
are you talking about the fan leaves? dont want to disturb my pretty flowers..can i rmove some of the larger old fan leaves surrounding some of the flowers? while flowering? i heard maybe not a good idea? want to be sure plant is getting light throughout! lol
Oh it uses those U shaped bulbs? I thought it had straight tubes. The plant spotlight, the one that emits heat, is probly not helping much. Incandescent lights aren't really good because they give off not enough light and too much heat. Looks like you have a 30w daylight CFL (the spiral one, bluish light), and the little tube one is 15w soft white? If you can, get those closer, they should be cool enough to get about 2 or 3 inches away. What do the phototron lights give you in watts? That's a big plant with a lotta potential, wanna make sure everywhere is well lit ya know? Looks like a good amount. And don't worry about handling the plant. Wouldn't that be great though to just get high whenever you touch it? Edit: How do you get into your dresser?

i really appreciate all the replys keep em coming..cant find help locally and dont want to tell people. for day 14 12/12 is it looking good flowering wise i had pruned the shit out of this when it was very young and have so many spots thruout the plant that are flowering..i just went and bought 3 more spiral bulb to add today..they put out 1650 lumans!! maybe this will help? thanks so much guys...any advice is taken!! xo
Your right not to trust anyone local, the best keep secret is the one not told, keep posting to GC you'll get your Q's answered even if you have to beg. Nice looking plant, go slow with the nutes and you should have some nice bud in 5-7 weeks.
Your plant looks good Betty. Congratulations on growing; it's truly a liberating feeling huh? From looking at your plant and the leaf structure I would conclude it's an Indica dominant strain. Indicas have broad fat leaves and Sativas long and skinny ones. As you know Indicas produce more of a couch lock sort of high. A bonus to growing this type of plant means a shorter flowering time about eight weeks as opposed to a Sativa which can take as long as thirteen weeks to fully mature. Also, why aren't you using a HPS light instead of all those fluorescents? High Pressure sodium lights give the plant much more light, therefore bigger and denser buds. There are tons of people that use strictly Flouros but if you want the next step in the lighting process go HPS. Anyway... Agreed, looks indica. But for two weeks it doesn't have much. Are you counting the days from when you turned the lights back or from when the first pistil appeared? You should really count from the first signs of flowering.
do you have proper ventilation? a fan on the plant?it sounds like heat stress to me.and a bit of a nute problem.flush it out with some distilled water. have ur hand under the light the same amount of distance that ur plant is to the light and if it gets to hot for u its definetely too hot for the plant!meaning u'll need fans to help air cool it.good luck.
it has alot of light now i bought some spirals 6 in all..someone asks hw do i get in closet.i dont its in a extra room in my house all to itself small room..indica huh? cool..illtop soil tommrow..work 2nd shift and just got home 1200am yawnnnnnnnnnn work with dementia patients..what a fun time tha t is..hahha i by the way i counted the first day of 12/12 tody was 2 wks..so is that good for my flowers so far> ill keep updating..not many gals online here..only guys seem to be smart so far and helpful thanks..
