please share your experiences with feminised seeds

  1. i am seriously considering buying feminised seeds because my grow space limits me to 1 or 2 plants and i'd hate to wait a couple months only to find out both were male. so i was thinking about getting feminised seeds.

i found a few threads on here about the subject and a lot of the comments were negative. a few people said they were a hassle.

i was just wondering if i can get some first hand information from people that have dealt with these types of seeds.

edit: is getting 50% female 50% hermie off of feminised seeds myth or fact? also which strain/breeder of these seeds produces the highest % female?

edit2: im only looking for comments, tips, or feedback from people that have actually used feminised seeds.

  2. I've never had a problem. There are rampant myths that feminized seeds will hermie, but it's never happened to me, and I recall only 1-2 pictures on this forum of true hermies (and no comment that they had come from femmed seeds). Others who have used them in past discussions also say they got no hermies.

There have been particular strains that got very bad reps for turning hermie, most recently femaleseeds.nl's WWxBB, and they pulled it off the market for a while so maybe there was some truth to it. But generally the breeders don't gain in the long run by putting out crappy product.

Bottom line: femmed seeds generally live up to the promise and rumors about femmed seeds turning hermie seem greatly exaggerated.
