So I'm 6 weeks into my first indoor grow, I planted 1 seed from some outdoor grown weed. I always intended for my first grow to be experimental so I thought I'd take the risk of my one seed to be female. I have bought some feminised seeds for round two. Ok, to the mystery at hand! Everything has been going really well, scrog net working well and a happy plant. A week ago it started to show signs of flowering? I'm running a 600w light 18/6 in a 4x4 tent, coco medium. Has anyone heard of a non auto flowering plant turning on its own? It's definitely starting to bud and lucky for me it's a girl but I've never heard of an indoor plant turning to flower on 18/6 lighting. Rather than deny it, I flipped to 12/12 yesterday, about 10 days after it started showing signs.
I've had a couple of guys in their 60's that have had many years of growing experience take a look. They haven't seen it before, but they both agree it has definitely started its flower stage. Like I said it's my first indoor experiment so I can't be sure, but I thought it looked female weeks ago.
I pulled the seeds from the buds myself, I have 5 feminised seeds I bought online after I had this one under lights? I haven't planted them yet.
Unless auto flowering and feminised seeds can produce naturally outdoors under the the right conditions?
If it helps, the seeds came from plants grown in a fairly cold environment, and the heads had highlights of purple. It was really nice smoke and I was actually happy to find a few seeds amongst it. I was hoping to fill out the scrog a bit more before I flipped it but like I said earlier, I felt that she had made up her mind and was flowering anyway, so as a newbie I thought the best thing to do was listen to the plant. Next grow I'll do 2 plants in my 4x4 tent, and I think I could fill the scrog with the right training. Any thoughts or tips haha would be much appreciated.
Unless the weed your purchased was auto flower and got pollinated and made seeds. That would make roughly 50% of the seeds autos.
