Hi everybody, I am new to this site, but it looks like I could find some good feedback here.... I find myself in a country were good lighting systems are not sold, all I can find over here are the basic home and business lights. I am trying to start with just a few plants, I already have the seeds, but do not know which light to use, I have read several post saying that a combination of flourecent tubes work and other people say it doesn't; can somebody that has done this successfuly please tell me how they did it... I am on a limited budget, so the cheapest option will be the best. The climate here is about 95 degrees everyday and humidity is 100%, do I need to have them with an a/c unit 24X7? Do you need special products to clone? or do youi just basically cut the top off and plant it? That's all for now, I am sure I'll have more question later... Thanks for the help!!!
Wow, I have never heard of a country that restricts the sale of grow lights. Would it be possible for you to order them online? There are plenty of sites, including eBay, that have great deals on grow lights and other products. Flourescent tubes, given that they are the right spectrum, will work just fine. I don't think that anyone would disagree with the fact that you can grow weed using them. However, there are better options. HPS and MH are two of the best bulb varieties for growing. But, they are a lot pricier than Flourescent or Compact Flourescent. If you are on a budget, go for the flouro's. Then, read some of the informative posts specifically geared towards flouro grows. An A/C unit might be good for you, not just for controlling the heat, but also for the humidity. 100% humidity can easily lead to mold forming during the flowering stage. If you are on a budget, you may just start with a few fans. They can really help mov the air around and reduce the temperature and humidity. Plus, they will help to 'bulk' up your plant. You are a long way from cloning, so I won't address that here. Just do some research on cloning on this and other sites. In fact, there is a good thread on cloning in the beginners forum. I think it is called 'How to Clone' or something like that. Good luck.
Thanks for the reply It's not that is restricted, its just that nobody grows anything indoors, so there is not really a market for that kind of equipment, I know I can order them online, but they are expensive, plus S&H, taxes, etc.. I can find General electric, or Sylvannia floro tubes (not the growlux), but I don't know which ones I need, how many per plant, which one is for vegetative and which one for flowering, how long should the light be on during the different stages, etc.. I have read several threads here, but none tell you these things.
