I recently got some dank from my connect and he told me too dry it out first, its real wet, so i put it in my mason jar. I was just wondering if im doing the right thing or should I just leave it out or do something else, its only a few gs, I read online that the jar takes the moisture out from it and when it starts to get foggy im supposed to open it up for a few hours, is this the best way going about it? Or should i also be doing something else? Its only a few g's
Let it sit in a paper bad for a few days, not a jar. It will mold in a jar unless the bud is dry. Once the bud feels crisp and the stems break (not just fold), then put in a mason jar until your ready to smoke. Honestly, a connect giving you wet weed is not doing it right. He should dry it and cure it before he gives it to anyone else.
Drying it is one thing, which can take a week or so. Curing, is another and is responsible for a smoother taste and burn. A proper cure with a mason jar can take up to 3 weeks or more. It is accomplished by maintaining a stable RH at around 60%. At this point your connect has already skipped both those stages so what I would do is use a vaporizer which will make it smoke a bit nicer.
^Silly thread, if your like me and need a hit 'right now' Take one piece of paper, make some small holes, set it on the exhaust vent for the oven, turn oven to 300degF check every five, enjoy fast dry, no thc degragation, you need fire for that. Actually, 25% of wet weight is a good number to go by, 33% is understandable, but less likely... however, certainly not 50% - you would find yourself severely disappointed after drying your harvest if that's what you were expecting (no point in taking wet weight anyways). I'm not sure what you were expecting OP - it should be common sense that it would lose weight once the water was gone. Hopefully you didn't pay for it's wet weight.
Hello, weed is 80% wet from plant, dude and what's 3.5-2.5=1. that's more like 70%, sorry but you should know with 8000+ posts. And yes he paid the wet price, just like everybody, including me, i started growing for that one reason. Fuckin guy's sell it straight off the plant, they should be shot.
I think you misunderstood me. I said 25% of the wet weight, meaning if it was 10g, it would dry to 2.5g - not 7.5g. So when I say that 1/3rd is understandable, I'm suggesting that it's possible for 1/3rd of the wet weight to be left once it's dry. And when I say that 50% is not going to happen, I'm saying that you're going to lose a lot more than 50% of the weight during drying. The vast majority of people do not pay "wet price" ... I don't know what kind of people you deal with, but that's not normal at all.

Ive brought some extremely good dro off him few times and this time it was wet, i dint know till i got home, so i couldn't do nothing so of course i paid the wet price, i wouldnt of brought it wet, i contacted him and he said he will replace the whole thing in a few days
