please help with newly transplanted clones

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by blowstee, Mar 13, 2023.

  1. transplanted clones a week ago and they are not looking good. i understand the plants focus growth towards the root system after transplant, but this doesnt seem like that.
The medium seems damp, but ive only gave 2l to the oldest three transplants. 1.5l to the 2 younger ones.
oldest three are in stonington platinum blend and the ph is 6
youngest two are in fox farms ocean blend and the ph is 6
    any advice would be appreciated.

  2. I don't give them much hope.

  3. Cut clones 4-6 inches long, cut 1/2 inch below a node at a 45 degree angle, dip cut end in rooting gel or powder, stick in fully moistened rapid rooter, place in seedling trays, places trays in propagation tray, spray leaves with water twice a day. There's more but that will give you better results than your going to get with what you have going on.

  4. when I do clones I like to have a lot of root just to avoid this: unsure situation, like 2-3 inches of root per plant
I always advise to mix in 30% perlite to any FFOF mix, add even more should you intend to feed your own nutes later, FFOF is hot stuff many growers go the whole grow with just FFOF not adding any nutes but do top up 1/2 bag for the next grow

aim for a ph of 6.5
thats 50 points above your current not the 5 many think

    good luck

5.0 out of 5 starsMy plants flourished!
Reviewed in the United States on February 21, 2023
I never had to add extra nutrients for my pot plant. I only grew a single plant in a 5 gallon porous pot and it turned out pretty decent for a beginner! I haven't tried any more although I still have enough to fill another 5 gallon pot if I get another viable seed to put in it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Horrible gnat infestation!

The worst fungus gnat infested soil I have ever seen! They must really keep this stuff in poor conditions!!

I've received many bags of soil and some come with a few gnats, well this was nothing like that! It had flies coming out of the box when it arrived. Before I could even use it, I had gnats all over my house.

Against my better judgment, I used it anyway thinking that I could control it like I always have. Well.... this was so BAD that I've been battle the worst gnat infestation that ive ever seen I'm over 20 years!! Ruined my crop. I've never seen anything like it before ever.

Is it Coast of Maine? Or just really really poor shop storage conditions by Amazon seller? Disgusting. I wonder if I order again what will come next? Spider mites? Aphids? Thrips? I dont think I'll EVER order soil here again.

Gave it a try and it wasnt for me. As soon as my plants got in this soil they stopped producing terps, root locked and just ended up in my garbage can as a result of many failed attempts to get things back on track… first and onliest time using this but def last. Kudos to those who use it well! But for me it was a costly experiment in both time and dollars

1.0 out of 5 stars Fungus Gnats

I bought this soil instead of Fox Farm according to a recommendation from a local plant shop. I was very hopeful and the soil color was gorgeous, after I repotted a 14" White BoP and a couple other smaller plants I realized I had a couple gnats flying around. I didn't think much of it, until I started seeing them crawling over every single plant in my home. I am completely turned off by this company due to this. I had to throw out an entire bag of soil. -- I get it, sometimes you can't control a bug infestation, but I am at a point now where I may have to throw away my entire plant collection as they may be too far gone. I am treating with neem, hydrogen peroxide, sticky pads, a Katchy, literally everything. Nothing is helping. I am extremely disappointed and will not be purchasing soil from this company again.

If you want root aphids and other pests that will completely destroy your grow then this is the product for you!! Im really disappointed with this product, im sure the soil is good itself but I spent months and months taking care of my plants only to loose everything because of infested soil. I won’t use this product EVER again, even if they paid me too!!!!!!!. It’s so disappointing that they put out product that is infested. So far I have root aphids, fungus nats, springtails and mealybugs, and im sure theres more! Do not use this product! Never ever ever ever again! But go ahead and try if you want! I lost a substantial investment because of this product! Worthless!!

3 bag later each was filled fungus gnats and other crawling bugs. And some worm looking critters. Do not buy. Soil sounds absolutely wonderful and I’m sure it would be if it wasn’t full of bugs. Seriously cannot get ride of these bugs gonna have to completely stop heavley clean a few times and eventually restart. What a waste of time and money. Spreetail is the buyer that sent mine and new bags to make up for it. Buyer beware..

Have used coast of Maine many many times. And always turned out amazing. Well for whatever reason the two bags I just received had bugs. They kinda look like the tiny Nats I’ve seen with “cheaper” soil. Anyhow it happens no big deal. Well I’ve contacted the seller with no response. Kinda disappointed. The last thing I want in a grow are bugs already in the soil.

Didn’t even send the platinum growers mix. It was full of mites, gnats, and tiny fruit flies. Would not recommend. Haven’t even noticed a difference in my girls using this dirt. Not worth it in my opinion.
