Please help with I think could be stem rot of some kind.

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by L0MPER, May 16, 2016.

  1. I have noticed tonight that one of my girls (who looks to be one of the healthiest of the bunch) has what appears to be some kind of stem rot. Here are some pics[IMG][IMG][IMG]
As you can see near the base of the stem it seems to have got a weak point, the root cube seemed wet compared to rest them and I'm thinking this could be causing it. I'm growing in a 6 pot Rdwc system and all the roots are now in the water with all water levels been just under an inch below the net pots (could this be too close?) Has anyone had this issue before or have any idea if it is root/stem rot.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  2. You won't really know until you have extracted that plant and have a close up look

imo you do have a concern

extract ..and wash the plant in air temp water with 5% household bleach

apply household honey to any wound or cuts

return to pot but in a better position

    monitor closely

    good luck

  3. Thanks for the response, sorted it now. It was due to the root block been 2 moist. Raised it a bit and its dries out lovely now with no other issues. Don't think my water temps helped the situation but I've since installed a water chiller n the girls are looking sweet now.
