I have some soil i used to grow a plant and there were bugs in it, what can I do ahead of time to get rid of these bugs? Should i bake it in the oven? Or pour boiling water through it a few times? I dont want to make the soil useless, but most soils have bugs in them from the start and I want to take care of this quickly.
Maybe just get some new soil? Seems like a lot of work that could be easily avoided. If your strapped for $ I would maybe suggest baking it but I don't know the first thing about the methods behind it and I heard that it makes your house stink big time.
My vote goes to buy new soil or microwave. Have been told by many that baking is more hassle and odor then it is even worth.
Howlong should I microwave it for? Id start it out in a red party cup. Then ofcourse move it into a larger pot.
Don't microwave dirt.... GO BUY SOME.. it's like $6 for 20lt of potting mix, if you can't afford DIRT you can't afford to grow besides the pots it's probably the second cheapest item
