This is my 4th grow and up until this point, has been my best looking and healthiest. Fairly quickly this developed on one plant heavily and a little bit on some other leaves on the other plants. Is this thrips? I can't see anything moving. Blue Dream Autos Grown in Fox Farm Soil pH'ed to 6 18 on, 6 off 2 tsp Tiger Bloom 2 tbsp Big Bloom .75 gal water 2x a week, plain water every other watering. Looks more like Spider Mite damage to me. I think I even see some on the bottom of the leaf. Not sure though, as I've never had Spider Mites on my plants.
That would be worse wouldn't it? Is there any saving them if so? I looked really closely under a microscope and couldn't find anything moving or anything that resembled a bug/egg/webbing. It almost as if the spots are burned through the underside of the leaf? Could my pH have been off? I really can't find any signs of bugs other than the markings, does it resemble any deficiency?
try a product with Spinosad spray leaves both sides drench them ,Spinosad get rid of spider mites ,Trips .and caterpillars ,,,mix with water and use it all has it as a life of 24 hours after mixed ... mac
Thrips look like tiny white worms. They're easy to see with the naked eye on top of the leaves. Mites are like tiny specs of sand. You usually can't see them without a loupe or magnafying glass. If you see black specs under the leaf it's usually a dead giveaway.
Thanks, I'm not seeing any black specs at all or anything on the underside of the leaves. I've looked pretty hard with a handheld microscope. Like I said, the spots almost appear burnt through the bottom in some places? Should I spray regardless?
You definitely have one or the other so you gotta do something. I'd lean more towards mites if you don't see any thrips. Sometimes you need a 20 or 30x loupe to see mites. Sometimes you can take a pic with your camera and zoom in. Rip a heavily damaged leaf off, put it upside down on the table and get a pic as close as you can, then zoom in. They appear burnt through because the bugs essentially suck the leaf dry from the underside like a mosquito. Each tiny dot is a spot they ate.

The handheld microscope is 120x, and I still don't see anything moving or black specs. Even in picture 3, I thought the top left was something but it's embedded/part of the leaf. Sorry, I am just trying to make sure its bugs before I spray the hell out of them. It was literally my first thought but the lack of any movement or the specs makes me wonder. It wouldn't surprise me if I screwed up the pH or am lacking some sort of nutrient is why I am hesitant. They are about 4 weeks from what should be harvest date.
Well, keep searching. Theyre there somewhere. check the worst affected leaves. With mites, you'll start seeing little white eggs on the underside too.
serious nute burn just look at the nute mix? I always advise adding so 30% perlite to any ffof mix its hot stuff add more if you are gonna add even more nutes good luck
I watered with plain water for the first 3-ish weeks but then began the nutes. Added some perlite, but not 30%. I knew it was hot, but this also wouldn't be my first time with nutrient burn/nutrient problems. I really thought it was bugs because of the way it looks and the feedback here but I'm driving myself crazy searching/cutting off leaves and I can't find a single sign of them other than the white markings.
