Please Help! Age Old Question: Is She Ready?

    About 4.5 weeks into this auto SanFernandoValley flower & I think perhaps I could wait another week or two; however my pops thinks maybe they’re turning hermaphrodite due to new pistols & buds growing from the sides of the buds. I was considering this to just be a part of the buds “filling in” since they’re still mildly soft to the touch. I just want to make sure they don’t start to return to seed, or harvest too late & lose some potency. First grow alone & I’m thinking maybe it might be too late? Please help!

    I'd push it for another week or so. They won't 'start to return to seed' or 'harvest too late'. In fact, the amounts of THCA/CBDA are pretty constant when in the harvest window.
    It definitely isn't too late.

    No such thing as to late. They just get better / stronger run long IME. The longer you wait the more the CBD matures and adds to the balance of the stone.

    Harvested to early and it's to THC rich and has a short time on stone, Anxiety driven, Edge of your seat, Fingernails on Chalkboard time.

    45 years of growing thousands of plants. Exactly 1 true hermaphrodite in all that time. Don't confuse Rodelization with hermaphrodite.
    Rodedization = 5 to 500 seeds ( a good thing )
    Hermaphrodite = 50,000 to 500,000 seeds. (Not so good)

    Thanks! Hopefully I will get a microscope if I can find one to make sure I feel ready. I appreciate the confirmation & will upload some better pictures soon.
