Playing music to your plants.

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by Fat Hits, Jul 12, 2012.

  1. Scientific studies have proven music encourages plants to grow significantly quicker. I don't know if this has been discussed before, but I felt like making a thread on this topic. The question is, have any of you used this technique with positive results? I've haven't grown yet, but due to the fact that music is an important part of my life, I'm interested in trying this on my first plants. Hopefully it yields a good outcome. My idea is to build a huge playlist to have in my tent/greenhouse/spare room depending on whether or not it's going in or outdoor (haven't decided yet) -- What kind of stuff should make up that playlist? I'm thinking a good 300 songs, just going on repeat. Feel free to share all of your opinions, I have a lot to learn. Youtube links are good too, if you post a song that my plants and I like, I'll use it.

    Thanks for reading.:smoke:

  3. Try Mozart.

  4. Sounds placebo to me. Anything is possible I guess.

  5. Mythbusters did an episode on this (not that their results are concrete). Also, there has been plenty of studies that support this. It seems that any sound promotes growth.

  6. i love music and i love plants,

my friends and i have done this technique just for the hell of it,'
but there's no way to really tell if it made a difference .
my opinion: its not really the music it would react to, but sound waves, and vibrations,
    will effect it.

  8. I know that singing to your plants can help because they like the carbon dioxide from your breath...but I don't know how much of a difference it actually makes

  9. it does work !

  10. I tried playing rap music to my plants once. I forgot and left it on all weekend. By the time I got back, all the girls had turned into boys and one of them tried to cut me with a single edged razor blade I'd left behind. Had to put her down.
Next I'm going to try Country music to see if it makes them drink too much.

  11. I've looked into this as well, Mythbusters did in fact do that experiment, and it showed that heavy metal music promoted healthy growth, probably because of the vibrations? Not sure, but I do know it was heavy metal music.

I thought about this, but it is such a small difference that the added noise, at least in my growing situation, is not ideal. I try to keep a low profile.

Next time try Nirvana. The boys will turn themselves to girls, steal your nute stash, and by the end of the weekend all you'll find is slumped over plants in a pool of sap.
