At Target, it was good, but kind of let me down. Graphically the PS3 was no better than 360. If you put them next to each other you could tell no difference at all, the controller also is very boring and unappealing to me. The Console itself is beautiful, but for 600 dollars it should be. I think it will be worth the money just because of the blu-ray, but the blu-ray makes it prone to overheating I hear. I just thought it was interesting i actually got to play one today, and was not very impressed.
the 360 is way prone to overheating as well. i work with a couple guys who have them, and all they want is their old x-boxes back.
I got to play one yesterday at Toys R Us when I went in to apply...they had the one that is gonna be on display set up in the break room and let me play while i was waiting...i personally dont think its any better either...the game selection might be though. Id wait awhile before buying one though.
I'm telling you guys... take all that money you would spend on a new console, on new games, on x-box live and invest into a quality gaming PC. You will be much happier and you'll be more tech-savy
This is why you dont buy the first of any system, they fuck up all the time. Wait till they make like the 3rd version. It'll be $200 cheaper by then anyways. eric
Thats what im saying. PC > all consoles(except for the OG nintendo) you could build a PC that would blow that shitty PS3 out of the water, for about the same price.
1. The PS3 is an insult as far as I'm concerned. 600 bucks for a machine bigger than some scanners, with a shitty controller that's trying to push a new format? No thanks. 2. I have friends with the 360 and I've not heard any complaints, and it's a very nice system. The control just molds into your hand, it's perfect. 3. PC is all well and good, I play FEAR and Oblivion on my PC. But consoles have their merit. GTA San Andreas is fucking HORRIBLE on PC and AWESOME on consoles for example. Not only that, but a quality gaming PC costs about 3 times that of an X-Box 360. Not to mention if you buy a PC and try to play games on it in 5 years without spending more money on it, people will laugh at you because it won't work, but if you buy a console, 5 years from now you will still have a steady stream of games to play on it without having to upgrade it. Edit: By the way, the PS3 looks like a fax machine.
I wouldn't mind playing one but won't spend that much cash on it, I'll wait until it comes out in yard sales.LOL second is the way I go.
Don't you think it's ironic how the japanese shunned the xbox for it's 'enormous' size, yet the ps3 is even larger, and I doubt they will even bring it up as an issue, they are going mad over the ps3 already. You mentioned that the ps3's graphics looked no different to the xbox 360's, well the console's release games never push the system to it's full potential, I think the graphics may prove to be very good, especiall on high def. (and I despise playstations) What's so great about blu-ray anyway? Just use a DVD For 600 quid; and sony's reputation of lying about the performance of their systems, they can fuck right off. And yes, I agree, buy a PC with the money. (plus you can upgrade those.)
Oh please. I'm not fucking ignorant. I've built a few computers in my day, and I know my way around. I also happen to be in school for video game design. I'm not some dumbassed fanboi. You want to try running FEAR or Oblivion on a system that hasn't been updated in 5 years? Go right ahead, I challenge you. Run Microsoft Flight Sim X on it too. Go for it. Also, I'm pretty sure your PC doesn't have a dashboard where you can set your music to play and it will automatically turn off for cutscenes and back on afterwords. Sure there could be one, but there isn't. Go ahead and carry your PC to a friends house. See how fun that is. Once you get there, enjoy playing a multi player game on one PC. Ya. Lets see how fun it is for you to take your PC and hook it up to my 105" HD projector. Sure you can do it, but it's not gonna be fun. Then when your done your gonna have to unhook it to type the report you need to type because 105" of screen real estate isn't ideal for typing. Consoles have a purpose. Hating on them is ignorant. If you choose not to own one, because they don't suit your needs, fine. But don't go around telling people not to buy them because "PCs are better."
totally agree with that, minus the gaming... make a good WARgame pc tehe... its all about security battles, man. who's teh best at keeping those who they dont want in out of the box for how long.
I bulit my gaming PC for $950. Up to par with 360 and PS3 graphically. I'm content, although I may buy a 360 when there's a price drop, they have alot of badass games [i.e. Dead Rising, Saints Row, Gears of War, NBA Live '07, NCAA...]
You must not have played SA that much on PC, Kalect, cause SA on pc owns the fuck out of the xbox/ps2 ver. so much more shit on it. but im with you on the whole portable thing, thats what i love about my xbox.
Yea, I have a computer that runs FEAR and Oblivion on high settings but it can't run GTA, yea, that's probobly it. Thanks. Since it owns so much, that must be why it got worse reviews on PC than it did on consoles. The controls just do not translate well to Key/Mouse. If you have a good Gamepad, maybe, but that's another 60 bucks.
indeed i didnt read that in your post. i was just saying in the PC ver of SA the civilians will chase you and stuff, just a pretty cool addition. i still like it more on my xbox partly cause the auto aim.
pft theres only one game for me (literally lol), World of Warcrack best game ever made, and the only one i can think of which ive been playing almost non-stop for over a year..
