Plants with Purple

    Hey I grew some random bag seeds for this summers grow and put out a mother and some clones all females well just recently all of the tops of them have purple color first going up the stem then on to the leafs that are just coming out of the tops can someone tell me what this is?

    it's probably a purple phenotype. are the buds themselves turning purple? Alot of plants turn purple outdoors, the cold temperatures also help in turning the plant purple.

    no the plant isnt budding yet I live in michigan and its a outdoor grow I guess i shoulda posted in outdoor but I dont think it really matters im hoping its a purple phenotype I dont think its cold because its been pretty warm here lately.

    It could be an exotic strain such as BlueBerry,BlackBerry,Durban Poison.... they all go purple.... it may just be stress if it's on some of the plant though? ..

    Nope its on every top and oh yea I wish it was one of those strains but im pretty sure it isnt.Anyone have a picture of a plant in veg with a purple phenotype?

    They don't all go purple..some of those strains just have a higher chance of going purple, some of those strains don't even have a much higher chance of going pourple than any other strains. It's very easy to make a plant go purple outdoors as long as it's not super hot at night and the temps are around 75 at night. Indoors, same thing. If you have a cold grow room there is a better chance of them turning purple. I had one of my 3 females go purple indoors because the temps were usually no higher than 75. There are no strains where ALL the plants turn purple. It's mainly luck of the draw also.

    So you think this is just a purple pheno its not mold or somthing. well thanks for the replys. I took a few clones the other day so I will see how they turn out after they root I guess.

    I figured they were probebly right w/ that. I don't think mold is normally purple. LoL, but then again - ? :smoking:

    hmm same here, i have a summer grow goin outside in NY and there is little traces of purple patterns on the leaves forming in the new nodes, not sure wat it is, i think its to early to make any guesses:rolleyes:
