Plants Leaves Sticking Completely Vertical

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by Heavyrockerkid, May 24, 2014.

  1. My girls fan leaves stick completely vertical towards the end if the day. Why is this. Is it good, bad? What's going on with my baby

  2. Here she is

  3. I have seen that happen resulting from extreme heat... but that may not be the only reason for that happening.

  4. That's a good sign in my opinion.

  5. The temps are between 77 79 degrees always. Fans blowing around them. I don't think its heat but I don't know a lot yet.

  6. Using CFLs too so not a whole lot of heat there from those

It's a sign of high pressure in the plant, and this is good, very good. Not something to worry about at all. But that yellowing might be, do you know what that's from?

It's the opposite of drooping. If the plant is droopy, that's when you have problems to fix

  8. The yellow was a heat burn slept too late and when the lights came on the plant chant grown into it and when I awoke that's what happened

  9. But that seems like it reduced the ability to photosynthesis and not being that good

  10. Well that is a fair point. I would prefer my plants to do that over drooping though. How much light do you have covering your area? And what's the size of your area?

  11. I have 8 cfl light bulbs 7 2700k and 2 6500 k grow area is small Luke 2x3x7 something Luke that. Enough to grow no more than 2 plants

  12. What is your humidity in your grow environment? Dry? How do the leaves feel? Are they kinda crispy? If the answer is no, then you are good to go. If everything else in your environment is up to par then all your plants are doing is reaching for the light, which is always good.

  13. Humidity varies between 25 and 35% and no the leaves feel nice cool and soft

  14. This is my girl as of today. She hasn't been standing up anymore so idk what that was about. How's my bud growth looking though?

  15. Looks good man!

That's just the colour temperature, what wattage are you running up? I suspect it's from low light, but they are still in good health, it's not something you should worry about. Whenever I see this it's in a CFL grow, but healthy plants

  17. Its says 26 watts on the bulb not sure if that's equivalent or what its using

  18. And one of em is 42 watts its a pretty big bulb compared to the rest

That's very low intensity per square foot so that's probably the problem. If your are able to add more light it will definitely give you a better yield. But as it is the plants aren't going to come to harm, so nothing to stress about
