Hello, folks... So I have this batch of 5 bagseed plants of random genetics that I decided to tend for mainly for practice, they've been vegging for 28 days now. 3 of them are healthy and everything was great up until two days ago, when two of them started doing this: Also, I've noticed roots are starting to poke out of the bottom holes, like this: I would've used the word "wilting", but they do not feel soft to the touch, they are kinda stiff. This would lead me to think this is classic over watering, but after 3 projects now I feel I kinda got the hang of watering at the right times. In fact last time I watered this particular plant the soil was quite dry, and the medium has good drainage. Are roots poking out a sign that I need to transplant soon? - Medium is 3 parts soil, 3 parts perlite, 2 parts peat. - Been watering with a constant PH of 6. - It's summer here and temps in my indoor space have been at a constant 30°C. (Too hot maybe?) - Growing under 150w blurple LED. - I manage PH with white vinegar and add mag sulfate due to high calcium in my water supply. Thanks for your help!
She looks really dried out mate - The constant heat wont help that. Do you have decent airflow/oscillating fan? I would get her into a decent size container now (11 Litre + min) - Her roots are outgrowing that space. I would also consider upgrading your light mate, she will grow very slow under that. Good luck pal.
I would let it get dry, transplant it and then water it. 30 is pretty warm. How’s the airflow? any small fan on light/plant? whats humidity? If it is low, you could throw a humidifier in there, it would also help with keeping it cooler Curious to see what others say. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
standard symptoms of the need to pot up now is good 1 month veg and 2 of flower loosing the roots is good not bad for a 'hunch too good luck
This came from the 3x3x3 inch cup on the right. Needed watered everyday or it wilted so it was a bit past time to transplant. TP to early and you risk shock if the soil breaks apart and disturbs the roots at all. Successful transplants don't move a single root and cause no shock. Wilted = weighs very little = dry and needs water Wilted = heavy = overwatered and let dry till it's feather light Pick it up to see if the plant needs watered is always the best choice with small plants. Ok, friends! Thank you very much for all your quick answers. Always grateful for such great help. Lets see... I do have an oscillating fan circulating air inside my grow space, and I am aware my light is quite weak, I'm thinking of upgrading as soon as I can afford it. I'm not measuring humidity to be honest, although it never was a problem before. Although I gotta say these are my first photoperiods since I've only grown autos until now. Not sure if there's a difference in sensitivity towards that particular factor. Also, both pots where my wilting plants are feel kinda heavy, and I noticed they have holes on the bottom that I drilled myself, but forgot to add holes on the sides, and they sit pretty tight on the floor... they have practically no air flow from underneath reaching said holes. I just managed to separate them from the floor a couple millimeters to see if that helps aerating the substrate. Will prepare for transplant ASAP! Thank you, friends!
Hey, friends... Just wanted to give you an update. All turned out fine after the transplant. She lost a little foliage due to my negligence but gained some height and the extra space allowed for some extra growth. Thank you all! Oh, btw, I've already put these under 12/12 because I have four of these babies and not much room in case they get big! Yes, four, one of them decided to sex early and it was a male.
