planting seed in drainless pot

  1. hey, this is my first grow out of some bagseed.
anyway, i got my setup all ready. and the seed is germinating. my question is if i could plant the seed in a jar that wont drain out water? or should i plant it in a cup or something easy to make holes for water drain? the jar is only in place of the main pot because of its early stage.

heres a pic of the jar.

  2. use a plastic cup or something, your seedling might drown and transplanting that is going to be a real bitch, seeing how the neck is a bit skinner the the body your going to damage roots and stuff when you pull it out

  3. ahhh i didnt even think about that, thanks

  4. definitely want to grow in something with drainage.
w/o any drainage, its too easy to drown the plant, and with constant moisture, i think mold can grow too easily.

I started with just some plastic beer cups, poked some holes in the bottom.

  5. You'd need awesome watering skills to grow in a sealed container. Only water as much as the plant would use or otherwise evaporate in one day. 50-100ml maybe. I'd kill it in under 2 weeks.

  6. Yeah it would take some skill to grow a plant in a sealed off container.

  7. Spend 10 cents on a proper plant pot.
