Planting dates in SoCal area?

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Outdoors' started by C_Dub, Mar 29, 2010.

  1. Hey Thanks for reading and giving me any advice!

I have a bit of a delimma... I have a few Sour Diesel clones I've been Vegging indoors in soil for about two weeks. I was planning on vegging till mid to late april then moving them outdoors... Unfortunately I have to leave town unexpectedly for the next 3- 5 weeks. I have someone I trust to watch water and feed them outdoors, but no one to run my indoor setup while I'm gone...

My questions are if I move them outdoors now (in the greater los angeles area) will they begin to flower immediately? If so, what are the ramifications of that? Will they return to a Veg state as the days grow longer, then reflower towards fall?

In short is it too early to move my 18 inch tall healthy Sour Diesel plants outdoors?

If so what's the earliest date I could make the move?

Thanks for any and all input, I've grown attached to my babies and don't want them to go to waste:eek: I mean if all else fails, when I return home I'll invest in new clones, but I'd rather use these!

    Have a great day all!

  2. Hey man,

I too am growing sour diesel clones in the socal area. mine have been outside for about a week and seem to be doing fine. I was told that with big-assed sativas like sour diesel its ok to plant them early because the longer they veg the bigger they'll get in the end. it's true that the days are only 12 and a half hours right now, but my babies don't seem to flowering, just growing bigger. I would go for it if I were you.

  3. Hey Thanks,

I just made the move outdoors, fortunately I've been taking them outside during daylight hours, then moving them back under the lights at night, to get them acclimated to the great outdoors. So hopefully this isn't too big a shock to them.

They look really great under natural light, it's weird after only growing indoors how odd it seems to have them outside... which is obviously how it should be:hello:

    Good luck on your SD's

  4. i havent ever done a clone outdoors (only indoor) but i germinate my beans and try to get them in the soil around February 1st. They never started to flower on me, maybe because they were immature little seedlings during the spring months.

  5. Hey just wanted to say thanks for the replies, and thanks to Grass City, I haven't posted much but I've read a lot and hence learned a lot!

I'm still out of town and according to my friend my Sour D's are looking great! Can't wait to get home and check them out. Maybe I'll start a grow journal, post some pics, and get some much needed wisdom on my outdoor virgin run.

Again Thanks to all!!! Have a great day, and the best outdoor season ever!!!!
