I didn't top my plants early on. They are about 1.5 feet tall.. but the top is very bushy, with no real space between each leaf set. How can I top? I'm not experienced (although I have topped over plants, not pot) and so fear cutting off too much or ruining the plant if I attempt topping it as it is. I was thinking about purposely keeping the light far up to make them stretch a little. What do you guys think?
You can get a magnifying glass and a very small pair of scissors/shears to top the next set of leaves as they are coming in.
yeh fine,if your not comfortable then dont try too top it,plants will stretch quickly then after you've topped it move lights back down as you sound like you have a great plant ,what everyone likes a squatty ,bushy plant. be only a day or 2 wait before its stretched enough for your comfort zone for seeing where too top without worrying you'll damage the plant all the best M.
Just cut the thing. It will figure a way to grow. If you are lucky you might FIM it and get four tops.
yeah you're certainly not going to kill it by topping too much. the worst thing that will happen is you'll stunt the growth a bit, but it's not going to die.
why does everything need to be little if the plant is a foot and a half tall, i have never pinched or topped my plants with scissors or anything little use your hands pull it off or break it off, marijuana it can handle it
It can handle it, but its still best to use a tool. Just pinching the top or tearing it off isnt a method you would see most use.
dont top is my suggestion take the grow tip between ur fingers and roll till u feal a 'smush' it might lean over but itll grow back alot stronger and send hormons to the lower limb's to grow out and lower stress on the plant, mj is a veery strong plant ur not gona ruin it for sure unless u cut it with a unsteril cuter
