Plant not growing

  1. Hey Blades,

I stuck this Mama Mia seed outside I hopes that it would produce some greenery I could use as mulch in my no-till beds.

Planted sometime the beginning of July. She is in a 5 gallon pot outside. Only gets a few hours of direct sun any given day. But still, I thought she would grow more than this.
Soil is a mix of perlite, nature's cure organic potting soil, and some leftover cactus soil.
I have top dressed with coop poop and worm castings.
The basil in the same pot look amazing and is growing so fast!

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

  2. Is that plant sharing root space with others directly?
    That's problem #1

Also, what's with the alternating nodes? I thought that was a sign of maturity...

Dig her out and get some generic organic soil mix and give her all day in direct light. Only water when the pot has lost just about all of its water weight.
You can find out the weight by keeping a close eye on it, waiting for it to just start drooping.
Pick up the pot, note the weight, flood the shit out of the pot with just water about 1-2 gallons after you think it was too much and now feel the weight.

With the time frame given it should be substantially bigger...

    Nice looking basil though.

  4. Only problem is, my back yard does not get more than a couple hours of sun. Putting it out front in the sun is not an option as there is a lot of foot traffic.

Do you think it is still worth repotting even if it is never going to get enough sun?

  5. i think you know the answer to your question...

  6. I know it will not bud well. I'm more asking if it can produce enough green leaves to use as multch.

So I guess a better questions would be, if grown in indirect light, will a cannabis plant produce foliage given better soil conditions?

  7. Transplanted her into a no till soil all by herself. A little mykos down with the roots. Hoping she will make it through

  8. Update:

I think she might have had spiter mites due to the white dots on the leaves. I've never had to deal with spider mites before so I'm not 100% sure. To be safe, I hit her with Spinasad Soap and she is looking a little better today.
